It starts with a press of his lips to your forehead as light as the flutter of a sparrow's wing. Then his arms encase you.

There are two types of hugs from Namor. There is the embrace of gentle arms that still give you space to breathe, often when the morning sun's rays bathed him in her glow so his skin shone a deep molten amber. His touch then is lightweight but lingering, he still doesn't want to let you go even in his heavy slumber.

Then there is the embrace of his strong arms that tells every inch of you - body, brain and soul - that he's with you, that he's got you. Those embraces are stronger than anything you've ever known, as if holding you wasn't quite enough for him. He has to feel every ounce of you press into every ounce of him.

In his embrace the world stands still and slanted on her axis. There's no time, no sea, no earth beneath your feet. You just feel his body press into yours and surround you. He holds you against him like you're precious, almost fragile. His touch soothes the very crevices of your bones and lets you simply melt against his chest. He's always warm, his body solid yet soft to your fingertips' kiss. You've seen him bend steel and break rock, but his body seems incapable of anything other than love when he holds you.

His arms feel like they're the safest place in the world and, for you, they are. Everything about him makes you feel safe and protected as though he was both your armour and your shield. He makes you feel like you too are as powerful as he is, your skin unbreakable. His hold on you let's his own strength seep into you like a match to a candle's wick. Nothing could ever hope to hurt you here.

His embraces often end as they begin, with a touch of his lips so gentle it could put the flutter of a butterfly's wing to shame. But as he lets his sweet kiss linger for a moment, his touch grows just a little firmer and he holds you just a little tighter, full of reluctance to let you go.
