"Be prepared to get yourself ready for the occasion, then quickly go and serve drinks to the guests in the ballroom!" The head maid's voice echoed through the busy kitchen.
The maids, including myself, nodded in agreement. In the blink of an eye, all the maids scattered in different directions, while I followed some to the changing room to get out of my greasy outfit.
"Did you hear that the Nobles of Obsidian are coming to the party tonight as well?" one of the maids in front of me whispered as she looked back at me and the other maid beside me while we headed toward the main ballroom after getting changed.
"Obviously, since today is a big day for Rhodolite. By the way, I recently heard some say that the Obsidian nobles are extremely handsome, but... brutal as well." The maid beside me shook her head in disappointment.
I mean, it's kind of expected that the nobles of Obsidian are brutal, since their rulers are reckless, not to mention the main villain of this game is from Obsidian as well.
"Y/N."
I looked up to see who had called my name. As I guessed, it was Rio.
The two maids who had come with me bowed their heads to Rio, smiled at me, and then vanished into the ballroom to do their duties.
Rio and I were left alone outside the ballroom door.
"Hey, you haven't explained to me about the King and Queen and—"
"Y/N, I'm sorry for running off like that after I dropped you off in the kitchen earlier. I shouldn’t have done that. But I promise to tell you everything about the King and Queen after the party is over." Rio mumbled as he pulled out his sad puppy expression on me.
I mean, I can't really blame him since he's been very busy arranging the party and stuff. Plus, he’s also the butler of MC, now the Queen of Rhodolite.
"Okay... let's meet up at the water fountain near the rose garden later on then." I sighed in defeat at his puppy eyes.
"Okie dokie!" He hugged me tightly, so tight that I almost couldn't breathe.
"O-okay, Rio, now let me go, I-I can't breathe properly—"
"Oops! Sorry, Y/N!!!" Rio immediately let go of me.
"It's... okay," I said, squatting down, trying to catch my breath.
This man is sure strong.
Oh, wait.
Right.
He's a prince.
And princes also do some training.
So I guess that's where he got his strength from...?
"You there, here, take this." The head maid waved her hand at me as a gesture for me to come to her.
After Rio and I went our separate ways, I quickly ran towards her.
She then placed a tray full of drinks in my hands.
"Serve the drinks to the guests in the ballroom, and come back here again after all the drinks on the tray are gone." She spoke sternly as she patted my left shoulder, then shooed me into the ballroom.
I was in awe as I walked into the main ballroom.
The sparkling cream-white marble floor, the beautiful architecture of wall paintings, the huge diamond chandeliers dazzling in the middle of the ballroom, the scarlet red carpet on the staircase, and—and...
The guests looked so...
RICH.
I mean, obviously.
They're nobles and royalty from another country, I guess.
