Chapter 9 Hi Again
Melony saw Jacky standing at the entrance in a museum uniform. Either she was the janitor or she worked at camp Fine Arts, and Melony didn't see any broom. Jacky ran over to Melony "heyyyyyyy" she yelled giving Melony a big hug. "How is your leg feeling"? "OK I guess"Melony said taking a step back. "I have to use these crutches for a while, but it's healing well". "Well that is so great, and your going to have such a good time at camp". Melony smiled but didn't say anything, although she was excited to see Jacky, she was more upset for being at the camp.
Chapter 10 So Bored
Melony was so bored after only 1 hour of the tour. Her armpits hurt so bad from the crutches, and all the friction rubbing against her was making her so hot. What she didn't expect that after the 6 hours their would be a quiz on everything they learned. Mallisa walked and sat next to Melony the whole time. Just talking on and on about nothing, but she was growing on Melony. It was more like a little sister relationship than a friendship. After a while Melony started listening to what Mallisa was saying and was surprised to find it was actually kind of interesting. Melony stayed talking back and they hadn't even realized that the test was due. They both failed it miserably but we're pleased with their new relationship.
Chapter 11 Same Old Same Old
Melony did the same thing everyday for a week, nothing new ever happening. Then one day she fell asleep while taking the quiz. Melisa was sitting with a few friends she made so she wasn't there to wake her up. When she woke up no one was there. She starting shouting, "hey anyone there". No one replied so she shouted again louder, nothing. Melony started running through the halls yelling, then she stopped. Took a deep breath and started thinking more rationally. She went over to a window and looked through, it was pitch black, not a good sign. "That's alright" Melony said talking to herself. "I will just wait it out till mourning, then someone will come and get me." Melony then had an awful realization, it was Friday. On the weekends all the kids got to do what ever they want and since it was fathers day the museum was closed Saturday, and it was always closed Sunday, then Monday was the managers birthday so it was closed. Melony checked the door and all the windows, but she knew they were all locked. Melony sat down and began to think, if she broke into the vending machine she would have enough food and she would just have to wait it out until Tuesday.
Chapter 12 Saturday-Melony's DiaryPOV Melony
Day 1 trapped in the museum- I started writing this journal to always remember this great occasion were my parents sent me to a school that's leaves children in a museum, over the weekend. I tried calling Melisa but she has a party on both Saturday and Sunday, plus she rarely checks her phone. I've tried breaking down the door but its too heavy, and the windows (made of colorful glass) costs more than my house. I've been living off of chips, and peanuts, and water obviously. I am wicked bored here, there is absolutely nothing to do around here. I fell asleep super early, and I had a really strange dream. A shadowy figure was standing next to totem pole, they was knocking it down. It was made of wood with different faces. First it had a yellow monkey, and then a Face with a feather in its hair. The last one was a key. And around it were bird sculptures, and face sculptures. I tried to get them to stop but I couldn't. I started shaking the dream figure, yelling "No that's not yours, you can't have it its mine. I need it". Then I woke up, really confused, I rarely remember my dreams and this one was really confusing. So yesterday was super boring, but today is 10 times worse. I started going around the museum and I was hoping I would find something at least a little interesting, but I didn't. I don't understand why people like museums so much. So as I went searching and I went into an exhibit with ancient American Indian room. And the thing I saw was a totem pole. Standing on a big platform with lots of bird sculptures, and statues of people with those feather hats. And on the totem pole a feather hat, a yellow monkey. I started running away, screaming. "Is this some kind of joke, it's not funny, what is going on here". I stopped to catch her breath breathing heavily she thought it might be a coincidence. So I started pacing back and forth, I had to find something to do or she would go crazy. Then I went to the music section. I took a bobby pin out of my hair. I'm used to picking locks and it was surprisingly easy. I took out the old trumpet it was really rusted. I blew through it and I really gross sound came through it, it sounded like a dying moose. I tried again and it sounds better, I kept trying and the better it sounded. I ended up playing it all day. Then I was super tired so I went to bed and I had another strange dream. It was the same shadowy figure, but this time it has a hat on. It was standing by this wired sculpture. It was metal painted black, and it was like a 3D X. I was there again but this time I wasn't trying to stop them, I was just standing there watching them. Then I won't up, and I didn't move. She was too nervous she was going to find the metal X. But the more I thought about yesterday the more I thought it was a dream. So I got up and started walking around. I was heading to the music room and something shinny caught my eye. It was black and metal and in the shape of a 3D X. I froze with fear and tried to think through this logically. Maybe it was all a dream, I thought, so I pinched myself, then a little harder, nothing happened. So I went to the music room and got out the trumpet, for the second time I played it all day. This time I made up a quick Melody. It wasnt great but it was cool for only learning how to play yesterday. Then I went to sleep and I had the weirdest dream of all. I was flying through the sky yelling "free free at last"! Then the figure comes up behind me. They are wearing the hat and they have a piece of hay in her mouth. It was jacky! "You can get out" she said.
Chapter 13 Break Out
Melony woke up and for some reason knew exactly what to do. She went over the 3D X and picked it up, out was so heavy. She had to pick it up walk three steps then put it down and repeat 43 times. She placed it 1ft away from the door. Them she got the totem pole and dragged it across the floor. Them she heaved it up on her should and placed it in the X. It fit perfectly! Before Melony could complete her plan she ran into the music room and grabbed the trumpet. Then she played a quick little melody. After that she ran back to the door and put the trumpet down. She then pulled the totem pole back and forth until she worked up enough momentum to hit the door. The door swung open, and slammed against the side of the museum. Melony ran out, and stared yelling and jumping like a crazy person. Then Melony sat down on a bench and just sat there for about 5 minutes. Then Melony took out her trumpet and looked at it. She then picked up her trumpet, and tried to hold her trumpet while using crutches. Melony found everyone from her group and told them what had happened. Melony then lived "Happily ever after".
