Undefeatable- a Sonic Frontiers fanfic

Prologue

"We're coming up on Starfall Island!" Tails announced through the rushing of the wind. Amy glanced over at him with a grin. "How exciting!"

"I sure hope we will be able to find the chaos emeralds here!" Penny responded. "Tails, you tracked them around here, didn't you? Let's GO!"

"Well, look who's all excited for an adventure." Sonic chuckled, amused by her enthusiasm.

"It's just been a long time." Penny sheepishly chuckled, patting the back of her head.

"Yes." Sonic returned the grin. "Yes, it has."

Things were peacefull for a while until something began beeping. Penny glanced down at Tails-she was on the wing with Sonic holding her steady-and frowned. "Tails, what's happening?"

"I DON'T KNOW!" Tails screamed as the plane began going crazy. Penny screamed along with the others as she nearly was flung off, but Sonic grabbed her, pulling her underneath him as he tried keeping himself from falling off too. Tails yelped, trying to steady his plane as he glanced at the weird readings on the screen. "There's some kind of atmospheric charge! Hang on!" He gripped the controls and zoomed upwards. However while that happened some strange weird reddish purplish blueish portal appeared in the sky, something that Penny had never seen before. She clung to Sonic, startled with the sudden opening. Like a black hole, it began sucking them up. The force was so strong that it seperated Sonic from Penny, leaving her on the plane wing as she clung for dear life as they zoomed through the portal.

Everything went black.

Darkness.

"Sonic?" Penny groaned.

No answer.

Penny opened her eyes slightly...she was laying down on some red floor, almost as if someone carelessly threw her in there.

"Where-augh!" Penny clutched at her head, curling into a ball.

It hurts...it hurts! Where am I? Why's this happening?! Sonic! Tails! Amy!....

Coughing, she slowly stood up, her hand still on her head. She glanced around at her prison...it was a huge strange red ball, kinda reminding her of a giant hamster ball, but much worse. It had strange little poles poking all around it, and it seemed like it was suspended above ground. Glancing at herself she panicked at the sight of herself all glitchy and out of place.

"Someone help!" Penny cried, running up to the edge of the prison and banging it. But the moment she tried a zap of energy shot through her and she yelped, falling back, grunting and holding her arm. "What was that?"

"A shock."

Penny gasped, whirling around to face a girl staring down at her. "Wh-who are you?" Penny whimpered, backing up but careful not to touch the sphere. "What are you?"

She didn't answer, but replied, "You are in a cyber cell. The walls surrounding you have a sort of electric fence to keep you from escaping."

"Why?" The human girl demanded, fear tracing her eyes as she studdied the floating girl. "How am I able to hear you but nothing else? What is happening?"

The mysterious girl said nothing. She stared at Penny one last time before flying off, leaving the girl alone.

Penny slunk down to her knees, panicking. I can't get out...I would get killed if I tried pushing it... Her thoughts moved to Sonic, Amy, and Tails. What about the others...? I hope they're not trapped like me...it's terrifying in here...

Before she blacked out, she murmured one name.

"Sonic..."
