After a long evening together, León and Violetta finally went upstairs to get ready for bed. They slipped beneath the covers, exhausted but content. Skyler didn't always sleep through the night, but lately she managed it more often — though sometimes she still woke from a nightmare and needed her parents' comfort.
Morning sunlight filtered into the room. Violetta lay quietly, holding León's hand where it rested around her waist. She enjoyed the warmth of him, letting herself drift in a soft daydream until Skyler's little voice echoed down the hallway.
Skyler: Mommy!
Violetta sighed with a smile and gently moved León's arm.
León: Well... at least she made it through the whole night.
Violetta: True. We actually slept. But I'd better go — she's calling for me.
She slipped out of bed and headed to Skyler's room.
Violetta: Okay, I'm here. What's wrong?
Skyler immediately wrapped her arms around her mother's neck, clinging tightly. Violetta rubbed her back, whispering soothing words until the little girl calmed down.
When she returned to the bedroom, she didn't see León at first — until she heard the shower running. She stepped into the bathroom and found him there, steam rising around him. She smiled, touched his shoulder, and he turned with a warm expression.
Violetta: Morning, handsome.
León: *resting a hand on her waist* Mm. Morning, beautiful.
She leaned against him.
Violetta: I have an idea. Why don't we let Dad and Angie take Skyler today... and you and I can have a day just for us?
He blinked, surprised.
León: Just us?
Violetta: Yes. What do you think?
He hesitated, then nodded.
León: Sure. But I need to run an errand first. I'll drop Skyler off on the way. You just get ready.
He kissed her forehead before stepping out of the shower.
After getting dressed, León buckled Skyler into her car seat and drove her to Herman and Angie's house. Once she was safely dropped off, he headed to the travel agency — planning a surprise getaway for Violetta. Something special. Something just for them.
When he returned to pick her up, he honked the horn lightly. Violetta stepped outside, looking effortlessly beautiful. León stared for a moment, caught off guard.
Violetta: Are you going to drive, or stare at me all day?
León: *flustered * Sorry... you just look incredible.
Violetta: It's just a top and jeans.
He shook his head, still smiling.
They drove to a small restaurant. León opened her door like a gentleman, and once they were seated, they ordered their meals. He wasn't ready to reveal the surprise yet — he wanted to enjoy the moment a little longer.
León: So... have you thought about where you want to get married?
Violetta: I don't know. Where do you want to get married?
León: Baby, Skyler is one now. We need to start thinking about the future. We can't stay engaged forever. I'm asking where — and when — you want our wedding to be.
Violetta: I don't know, León. I've been busy with Skyler. And I don't want just any day. I want it to be special.
León: Any day you choose will be special. I won't let anything ruin it. It'll be about us.
She frowned.
Violetta: Why are you being like this?
His voice sharpened.
León: Being like what? Caring about marrying you? Sorry if that's a problem.
Violetta: Why are you suddenly desperate to get married? We've been engaged for two years. You were the one who wanted to wait until Skyler was older. Now she's one, and you're rushing everything. What changed?
León: I can't believe you're angry at me for wanting to marry you. Seriously?
People began to stare. Violetta pushed her chair back too quickly, and it toppled behind her. Her voice rose, trembling with emotion.
Violetta: YOU KNOW WHAT, LEÓN? YOU'RE RIGHT. I AM BEING SELFISH. BECAUSE MAYBE I'M NOT READY TO GET MARRIED. MAYBE IT'S TOO SOON.
His jaw tightened.
León: If you felt that way, why didn't you talk to me? That's the problem — you shut me out. Fine. If you don't want to get married, that's great. Saves money. No wedding to worry about.
Violetta: Oh, so now our wedding is stupid? Maybe we should just break up while we're at it.
León: Fine by me. I'm sure plenty of guys would line up for you.
Violetta: Do you think I'd run off with someone else?
León: Wouldn't surprise me. Tomás would take you back. Or Diego.
She froze.
Violetta: How do you know about Diego? I never told you.
León: Francesca did. She told me everything. So if you want to go back to him, go ahead.
Violetta covered her face with her hands, overwhelmed. The argument had spiralled into something neither of them understood. Something neither of them wanted.
And now she didn't know what to tell Skyler. Or whether she was about to lose the family she'd built.
