At Varvatos prison the sun started to peek inside the solid walls, giving the start of another day, for both the guards and prisoners. We can see Zhake walking down, passing the tip of his spear in the cell bars, and waking up the prisoners, In the Varvatos prison, considered by all the prisoners, Zhake was the kindest and nicest whenever he was on his shift, as all the other guards were complete assholes.Zhake kept walking, waking up the prisoners until he reached the end of the hallway, there was a slightly different door in there with a sliding metal window and an opening hatch, he opened the window, and there was a person in the piece of concrete that poked out of the tall and acted as a bed."Hey dragon, sun's up, so should be you, it's time for your breakfast."Zhake said opening the hatch, and as he did, a plate of food was slid inside the cell, it was nothing delicious, but it was better than starving to death. The dragon growled tiredly ignoring the man. He was curled up in a corner on the floor, his cell covered in broken pieces of what used to be his bed. Adira didn't wanna eat, preferring to starve than eat the disgusting food. Adira had a long night and wanted to be left alone in his normally cold cell. He was still sore from the beating he received 3 hours ago and was in no mood to deal with Zhake.Zhake sighed tiredly. Adira got beat up again because of those racist guards that discriminate against any other race that isn't human and it wasn't the first time it happened, or that they beat up Adira. How did Zhake know? Because Adira ignored him, nothing new, Adira was a tough head one, but in normal circumstances, he would turn around and say something like "fuck off" or something between those lines.Zhake hated to see his old friend like this and being powerless to do anything, Zhake looked back, and there seemed to be no other guards around. He reached down his waist, pulling a ring of keys, and separating one of the rest."You know, I heard that there was going to be a revolt in a few days and there won't be that many guards around."Zhake said, tossing the key inside which made a metallic sound when it touched the ground and bounced below Adira's bed.Adira's furred ears switched at the metallic sound, his ill mood lifted slightly at the thought of getting out of prison and seeing his beloved and he sat up from his fetal position to stare at the guard. "I need some clean clothes," He said plainly, his voice sore. His clothes got torn in the fight leaving the dragon in nothing but a pair of black briefs and opened toe stocking his bare chest on full display. Cuts and bruises covered his skin, without vampire blood Adira healed slowly and was vulnerable to attacks. Nevertheless, Adira reached down and grabbed the key groaning in pain as he did so."Heard that. I already got it covered." Zhake said grabbing something from the tray he had, he say those were 'dirty clothes and was going to take them to wash. A lie, those were Adira's clothes.Zhake instead of tossing them inside the cell handed them to Adira, waiting for him to grab them."There won't be more than three or four guards, I'll have to fend all the others off, while I do so you 'slip away while I don't notice and you run off, go outside the kingdom, a bit far from here will be two horses next to a destroyed carriage. Take care""You don't have to do this" Adira said reaching out his hand to grab the clothes from Zhake. Adira was unsure of himself something that rarely happens, he was happy to finally be able to see the outside world after being cooped up in his small cell for 19 months, but the sight of Zhake risking everything just for Adira's freedom put his mind in a pull of turmoil. Adira wasn't someone you'd want to risk your life for. Adira was a horrible person beyond redemption, he shouldn't even be alive right now. He couldn't understand why a person like Zhake would help him."You know me, living life at the edge. Besides, I still owe you one for that time at the forest of tob."Zhake simply said as he closed the hatch, but still kept the window open."Don't let anyone see the clothes, hide them with the remains of your bed, and do the same with the key. Humor me."Zhake said, slightly grasping his throat, then, hitting the heavy door with the back of his spear."¡And you better clean your mess if you don't want to get beaten up and hunted in the center of the town!"Zhake shouted suddenly, making most of the guards and prisoners hear him, not so long after, he looked back at Adira.Adira rolled his eyes and stifled a laugh that threatened to jump out of his throat. "Why don't you clean it for me pig" Adira yelled The insult wasn't necessary, he mainly said it to rile up the other prisoners and because he wanted to be extra. Their whoops and hollers boomed throughout the halls. Adira gave a toothy smile to Zhake his slightly yellow teeth gleaming at the tall man. "Try to get me out for recess," he whisperedAdira scoffed at him and muttered a few curses. This was the first time Adira was allowed out of his in 2 weeks, he was gonna take his sweet time stretching out his sore muscles. A small pleasurable groan emanated from the depths of his throat and rumbled in his vocal cords. When he was done he took a slow walk out of his cell, his hands on the back of his head."Am I allowed to punch a guard?""As many as you want, because I know which are your targets."Zhake said holding a laugh, he knew that Adira was going to beat the living hell out of those racist guards."Now, punch me strong enough to make my nose bleed."Zhake said, tossing his shield away, to make it look like he didn't have the shield with him."We need to make it credible don't we"This time Adira wasn't able to hide his amusement as a small chuckle vibrated his vocal cords. "Now when I knock you out I don't wanna hear nothing," he said bouncing on his toes and balling up his fist in preparation for the punch. Adira jumped up in the air just high enough so he was able to deliver a swift kick to Zhake's head. He knew Zhake said to punch him but in all honesty, the man should have known Adira was a kicking type of guy.Zhake received the kick which just made his face turn away, when he turned around, he was holding his chin- it was dislocated.Zhake tried to form words, but they just came out as a weird painful groan, not so long after, his nose started bleeding. With all the strength he could muster, he placed his chin back in place."You kick hard you know?"Zhake said holding his nose"Now run! All the Prisoners are outside their cells, so a revolt right now won't be retainable""Ay, ay Zhaky" Adira mocked before making a dash for the courtyard Adira was fast and efficient, every blow was skillful, and calculated, everything you'd expect from an ex-soldier turned mercenary. He blew through guards with the power of a finely tuned weapon, Adira was kicking off a few heads and punching in a few chests, and this was all while he was injured.Soon enough the dragon came to an 80-foot wall that encircled the prison and kept everyone in"Shit, shit, shit" Adira muttered as his escape came to a holt"Why didn't Zhake tell me I would have to get over a wall?!" He yelled, the dragon was in no condition to scale a wall that large, not without a little help at least. So Adira looked around the courtyard, there was chaos all around him, prisoners rioting against guards and starting fires."Because you hit me"Zhake said mentally as he was fending the prisoners off, making them fall back to their cells, aside from Adira, who "slipped away"Zhake knew the only exit that wasn't the main gate was on the east side, where the horses and the destroyed carriage were, if Adira was smart enough and kept running on the wall he would reach the exit without being noticed. After successfully containing the revolt, except for one prisoner that managed to flee, Zhake called it quiet and "went home" to rest.Such a lie that a little kid could see through, Zhake went east to the horses, hoping Adira was already there.Lucky for the little dragon, he did indeed make it over the big wall, no thanks to Zhake. Adira sat on the ground wrapping his wounds with bandages he found in the broken carriage. His head turned toward the direction of stomping hooves signaling someone approached and not knowing who it was Adira prepared his defensesZhake sighed tiredly as he came close to the carriage, throwing his weapons away."Ah so you made it"Zhake said cracking his neck and tossing his helm aside, now that Adira was free he had nothing that could bond him with that place."Ready to taste freedom once more?""Definitely" He said calming down"Then let's get going."Zhake said hoping unto his horse, patting it on the neck so it would calm down."And? What's the first thing you're going to do? Go see her?"Zhake said waiting for Adira, he missed Aris and wanted to see her also. After all, he had been 18 months there, just as Adira was captured to keep an eye on him.Adira huffed a breath "obviously"Adira's been away from Valmett for almost 3 years, the two got into a heavy spout one night and she kicked him out of the house. He got a letter from her 6 months ago and ever since he's been dying to see her."Do you want me to go with you? You know, just to be sure."Zhake said although that was mostly directed to Valmett, in case they got into another fightZhake started to gallop next to Adira, as he didn't remember the path to their house. He was wondering if Aris was around, Aris was Valmett's most emotional support, and he wouldn't be surprised if she was around, more now than ever."Sure why not, it would be good to have my friend there," Adira said not really caring for Zhake's reasoning behind it. The man was dying to see Aris as much as he was dying to see Peaches.Adira knawed at his bottom lip, he was uncomfortable, he was nervous about Valmett and what she would say. Would she still be mad, would she resent him for all the bad things he's done? Or would she jump into his arms upon first sight and bury her face into his neck? So many questions ran through his head and it showed on his face."Hey, hey, take it easy, I know what you're thinking, but everything will be all right."Zhake knew, he had also felt the same with Aris, when they fought- it was something rare, but when it happened he was flooded with negative thoughts."What if she still hates me?"Adira blurted out no longer able to contain his thoughts. "What if she wrote me that letter just to say it's over between us?""What if she never sent a letter and someone's fucking with me?" This was by far the farthest reach Adira could take but then again Adira's never been the most likable person. He was considered a terrorist in most kingdoms not to mention a mass murderer, a war criminal, a thief, a child killer, and just an overall monster. so he had more than enough enemies that would pull some stuff like that"It'll be fine, it must have been just a spontaneous rage, and she misses you, besides, Aris was with her, so there is nothing to be worried about."Zhake knew all the horrible things Adira had done, and he couldn't even be considered a living being anymore, and most of the kingdoms had an insane bounty on his head."I'm pretty sure that it wasn't for that, how long have you been together already? She wouldn't just throw it all in the trash."Zhake said, but by every doubt he cleared, Adira had another."That is... Not probably to happen, there is a really low quantity of people that can copy other's writing style"Adira chuckled"I can think of 6" Though what Zhake said was true, Adira was not ready to accept it. Doubts clouded his mind as he neared his beloved house, his mind kept coming up with scenarios, each more absurd than the last."It's there, isn't it? I know because that is Aris's wagon and horses, so that means she is here!"Zhake didn't hesitate to hurry up, basically jumping out of the moving horse to start running at the door and knocking it several times."Aris?! Are you here Aris?"Zhake said waiting for the door to be opened, when it started to do so, the one that showed wasn't Aris, but Valmett."Right here"Zhake said making himself aside to let Adria be seen jumping down off his horse."And, and, is Aris here?"Zhake said trying to look inside, but the half-closed half-open door didn't let him.Her gaze flickered to her lover before going back to the tall man "Yep, she waiting for you to sweep her off her feet," she said with a smile."Nothing new haha"Zhake said finally stepping In, starting to search for Aris, but still was at the wait if something happened between Adira and Valmett.-"I am over here Zhake"Aris said as she was sitting on the couch of the living room, but she saw her words cut as Zhake launched himself over her."I missed you, Aris"Adira slowly walked over to Valmett, his arms were wrapped around himself in a tight embrace, something he did as a child whenever he was uncomfortable or sad a habit that he carried with him into adulthood. Valmett gave him a reassuring smile her arms reaching out for an embrace "Come on Adira, no need to be shy " she said urging Adira's feet to move faster. He launched himself into her arms, wrapping his muscled arms around her waist and lifting her feet off the ground."Hey peaches," Adira said his face buried into Valmett's neck. Valmett smiles her arms encircled around Adira's neck. She missed him so much, for so long she wished she could take back all the horrible things she said to him. The memories of that night ran into her mind and brought tears to her eyes.Zhake came out with Aris on her shoulder, the notorious cheering outside for their attention."You see? I told you it would be all right"Zhake said with an "I told you" face as Aris giggled a bit, leaning on Zhake's head so she wouldn't fall.-"I told you he wasn't going to be mad. You just needed to let him clear his mind."Aris said addressing her words to Valmett, seeing how they demonstrated the love they had for each other. Both Valmett and Adira laughed before connecting their lips in a sweet kiss. Valmett looked back at Aris with a bored look on her face "You're gonna brag about this for the next 6 months aren't you?"-"Make it eight"Aris said as she also missed his man, who also kissed back without hesitation."And, what are you going to do now Adira? Go to another kingdom to be declared a terrorist again?"Zhake mocked, although there was a stupidly high chance that he was indeed going to do thatAdira chuckled darkly "Sounds fun""you never change do you"Zhake said chuckling, this meant that he'll have to be around to take care of him in case he gets incarcerated... Again"It's how I make a living" Now that Adira is free he has a lot of work to catch up on. He got at least 200 job requests while he was confined not to mention all the dogs he had to put back on leashes. Bastards seem to think that just because their boss is behind bars they ain't gotta listen anymore. Oh, Adira can't wait to see the look on their faces when they see him. All the beatings he'll get to unleash put a sinister grin on his face.
