A/N:
It's been such a long time since I've written a fanfic TT-TT it honestly feels nice to finally be writing something. I've been inspired to write after seeing all of the idol fanfics and fanart for this fandom. It really got the gears rolling in my head. This fanfic was inspired by One Take from Lezhin, but the relationship dynamic of the main couple won't be the same in this fanfic. However, I will be using some major scenes from that comic, so heads up for those who don't want spoilers.
___The light filtered through the window, hitting the seats. The rays shimmered on short red hair, highlighting eyelashes and kissing the eyelids of a sleeping red-haired man.
The noise of murmuring slowly stirred the person awake. The awakening figure's mind slowly cleared up as he became aware of the warm sunlight hitting his face.
His hands moved to touch the object hugging him. A seat belt? Was he in a car? Why was he here? He doesn't remember falling asleep in one. Did someone kidnap him?
His eyes moved under his eyelids before he scrunched up his brows and blinked his eyes open.
Checking over the area, it didn't look like there was anything dangerous around. Someone was sitting in the driver's seat, talking on the phone. In the passenger seat next to the driver, there lay a script.
Nothing out of the ordinary. That was until he turned his head towards the window. He was slightly startled, his eyes widening. What surprised him wasn't the calm environment outside that he guessed was outside of Korea, judging from the people and buildings they passed by, but the reflection in the window.
A handsome face with red hair and red-brown eyes was in front of him.
The driver ended his call before glancing back through the rear-view mirror.
"Oh, you're awake, Cale-nim. Did I wake you up?"
Cale. That name sounded familiar.
The red-haired man redirected his attention to the person sitting in the front seat, fully taking him in. He had light orange hair tied in a low ponytail and was dressed formally in a suit. He must have been the one making noise earlier.
"Cale... Henituse."
"Yes?" The driver glimpsed at him through the mirror. "Oh, already embodying your character for your role! How enthusiastic of you!"
He furrowed his brows. Character? Role? More questions were added to his list.
He stared back at the window.
This was definitely the body of Cale Henituse. The minor antagonist in The Birth of a Hero, the novel he read in his past life. However, there were too many things different from what was supposed to be the situation.
The Birth of a Hero was an action fantasy about the growth of heroes. Characters ranged from royalty to strong humans to different races such as Whales, Elves, and Dragons. That was nowhere near modern. He shouldn't be in a car driving by modern architecture, much less have a phone on his lap.
He turned his phone upwards and swiped the screen, only to be greeted with a password screen. Thankfully, placing his thumb in the bottom center was enough for the phone to unlock. The first thing he did was click on the calendar app.
March 29, 20XX. They didn't use the same calendar as TBoaH, nor was it the same year as his world.
Although that's different, the month and day made him uncomfortable. It soon dawned on him why. If this world is going to follow the same development as the novel, he'll meet Choi Han soon. The person who will beat Cale to a pulp.
