[Name] scrambled down the dim hallway, as the man's voice echoed down the hallway with them; like he was taunting them with [Name] attempting to find a pitiful excuse of a "hiding" spot. They headed to the front door, They tried to open the door, but it wouldn't budge. [Name]'s heart sank, "What the hell? Fuck! Open, open, please!" They wiggled the knob, but it wouldn't budge as they turned the lock many times. They felt tears stinging their eyes.

Not knowing how much time they have left, [Name] went to the kitchen, there are a lot of spots there that could hide them. Better than the guest room or living room it seemed. [Name] looked around frantically, their breath just as heavy as the devil-masked intruder. Finally, their eyes landed on a lower cupboard next to the sink.
'Better than being out in the open and being prey.'

Opening the cabinet, [Name] only saw bottles of soap and a few sponges. Going on their knees, [Name] crawled inside, cautious to not knock over the bottles of soap. They closed the cabinet door gently just as they heard the man go down the hallway,
Thump, Thump, Thump...
Other than that, if he wasn't so loud with his walking, [Name] wouldn't hear them in general. It terrified them.

Their bat, rested on their chest as they sat in the darkness of the cabinet; [Name] could hear the man's little giggles to himself, it was like he was eager for something. Like finding [Name].
'Please don't find me, dear God, or whatever God out there, please don't let him find me!' They prayed.
But it seemed like God wasn't on their side right now, as the bat slipped from their chest and hit the inside of the cabinet.

'Fuck!' They heard the man get closer as [Name] busted out from the cabinet, seeing the man, [Name] began to run to her bedroom as he was close behind. Closing the door, [Name] locked it.
Knock...Knock knock~
"Come out, [Name]~" He took a breath of air. [Name] didn't answer, looking for a hiding spot, or a way out. [Name] spotted it, the window. They could escape from the window.

[Name] began to head toward the window but then the door unlocked. Leaving [Name] confused and terrified for their life. The man laughed as the door opened,
"Oh, I've been cravin' for this moment, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Come 'ere darling!" The man roared as he strode closer, his knife close to him as if he was ready to stab.

"Fuck you!" [Name] spat as they jumped out the window in a hurry, they seemed to make it as pain coursed through their legs by the high drop, like electricity. [Name] heard the man give out a hearty laugh behind them though as they ran with the bat close to their chest.

[Name] huffed and puffed, their forehead grew sweaty as they ran to the police station. They felt tears swell in their bloodshot eyes from the earlier cries. [Name] peeked behind them, but no one.
Their legs feel like they're going to give out.
Then there it was, the police station, just a little more running, then safety.

Wham!
[Name] busted into the police station and their ears began to ring. They heard a sigh come from in front of them as [Name] glanced up, shuffling exhaustedly to the front desk as they huffed from the escape to get here.
"Mx, are you feeling okay?"
[Name] dropped the bat with a clanking noise to the dark wooden brown.

Their legs gave out as they fell to their knees. Everything panged with discomfort, their ribcage, their legs, their eyes if they blinked, their hand felt numb from the grasp on the baseball bat. A stinging sensation bloomed on their knees as the stranger helped [Name] up.
"Mx! Don't close your eyes, I'm going to get help!"

Chapter 3 ½

They were sprinting down the street, [Name] huffed and puffed as their lungs wailed in torment, their heart beating a mile a second.
[Name] peeked behind them, they let out a cry of fear as the man with the red deviled mask was behind them. His deep laughter rang through [Name]'s ears as they ran a corner, then to an unlit alleyway.
A hiding spot, [Name]'s eyes darted around for a hiding spot as his steps became closer.

Boxes! [Name] found boxes stacked on one another, they could hide there.
They ran to the boxes, once behind them, sliding their back on the boxes as they covered their mouth, sitting on the filthy, darkened ground.
'Please, please don't find me.' [Name] pleaded as the footsteps came closer, and closer. Then they ceased.

[Name] peered their head up, and their heart fell to their stomach as their mouth jarred open. They couldn't scream, scream for help, or fear as the man gave a hearty laugh, echoing through the alleyway, their ears.
[Name] attempted to move, to make a run for it, but it was like they were paralyzed.

"Oh, I've been cravin' for this moment, Hmhmhmhm, HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

.
[Name] shrieked, wheezing for air as their eyes darted around. They were in a white room. [Name], panting, glanced to where they sat. It was a white bed, with matching white, thin covers. [Name] felt a sensation on their wrist, lifting their wrist slightly they noticed a long string, an IV string on it, as it ran up to the place it was held. It looked like it was giving water or a clear liquid to them.

[Name] furrowed their brows, no long panting, but sweating as they were as they first woke up.
'Where am I?' They pondered, 'A hospital, what a dumb question, but why?'
They tried to think, to know what happened earlier, but their head suddenly throbbed in pain. [Name] put their hands on their head, then memories flooded back, To the man in the red mask, to them hiding, to them running away if barely. It was a narrow escape. Then to the police station.

'Oh my God, the police, they brought me here. I need to tell them about the man, what if he finds me again?'
[Name] shuffled to the edge of the bed, their bare feet touching the white-marbled floor. Goosebumps instantly ran through their whole body.

[Name] got up, but the pain ached through their whole body. They sat down just as quick as they stood. [Name] sat for a moment, blinking. 'Okay, so no standing. I'm sure he won't find me here anyways, I just have to sleep.'
[Name] shifted to the middle of the bed, using their hands.

[Name] laid down gently to not get the same discomfort they had a moment ago.
'At least try to sleep, [Name], you need to so you can wake up and tell the police...I'm sure to get a lot of questions when I wake up.'

They closed their eyes, comforted that tomorrow will be better, that they'll visit their family, that the man will go to jail and they'll be happy.
After minutes flew by, [Name] finally fell into a restful, and deep slumber by them making scenarios of them happy, with family just what they thought to themselves only minutes ago. A tear fell out of their closed eye, as the blankets gave a warm delight.

Click! The door unlocked and opened without a cry of a creek. His smile grew as he stalked closer to them, Tonight was the night.

(Okay, So I apologize it took so long to come out, I said that it would be sooner, but it didn't. I wasn't studying, no, I wasn't doing, actually anything. I was just laying around with scenarios in my head, oh, and did you know that I actually started this chapter the moment the other chapter came out? I erased it though because I didn't like it and it was off-character for him.)

I swear, on my pets and my life that I will post a chapter in two to three days, perhaps even tomorrow I shall! I shan't leave this book in the dust.
