Chapter 1

"Honey, Mr. Smith is calling you to his office"

My name is Monica White I'm 23 years old and I live in New York with my son who is 2 years old. I currently work for a company called brighter day, I basically come up with different ideas to promote our business.

I love working here except for the people that happen to work here as well. Sometimes they just make my blood boil. Especially Mr.smith Assistant Angela she always has something smart to say to me but I pay her no attention.

"Helloooo I clearly said Mr.Smith wanted you like an hour ago"

I was busy daydreaming to go the first time so maybe this time I should really go.

"Umm lose the attitude I heard you the first time"

If you are wondering why they call me honey it's because of my personality, I'm a very sweet person but don't let the personality fool you I don't play about two things my son and my family.

I started to walk down the hallway towards Mr.smith office.

"You called me sir"

He swifted his glare from his computer to me face.I can say Mr.Smith is a very handsome man but he was also my boss which was a line I chose not to cross.

"Umm yes actually I was wondering if you could go with Angela and stop at the local store and show her how to make my coffee properly"

It's crazy how she's his assistant and I'm the one teaching her how to make coffee. I think he only hired her for her body but that was not my business.

"Yes sir" was all I said preparing to walk back out of his office before I could walk out here comes his lovely assistant rushing in.

"Good morning Mr.smith is there anything at all I can get for you" she said blushing.

If I wasn't so focused on leaving I could have sworn she was flirting with him but as I said before that's not my business.

I walked back out of his office to go downstairs and get ready to walk to the store down the street. I didn't mind walking it definitely got me out of that office.

I know I was supposed to be walking with Angela but I had no time or desire to wait for her I'm sure she would make her way down here sooner or later.

I soon arrived to the coffee shop but before I could successfully cross the street this car comes zooming right in front of me.

If I wasn't so careless I maybe could have paid a little more attention. but don't get me wrong this by far wasn't my fault.

"My bad baby I ain't see you I'm so sorry"
This is why they call me honey I could have cussed him out but that's not me at all.

I thought he would maybe apologize but he didn't even say a word to me he just looked and kept going.

Even thought it was rude I just kept walking until I reached the doors. Something's don't deserve an reaction that's all people want out of you any way.

I finally arrived at the front of the line to order Mr.smith coffee. After I was done ordering and I started to walk out and saw Mr.can't drive sitting by his car.

He glanced my way and all I could manage to do was roll my eyes and keep walking. He scoffed but I didn't oh it any mind.

As if my day couldn't get any worse here comes Angela. If I didn't know any better I would she she is angry with me for leaving her. But little does she know I do not care.

"Umm what part of you are supposed to go with me don't you understand" she was talking and all I heard was "blah blah blahhh" doesn't she ever get tired of trying to impress that man.

"Here baby you take it to him"
I call everybody baby it's sort of a habit I picked up from my black elders(if you know you know)

Even though she is rude and ignorant I know what it's like trying to impress somebody you are interested in.

Surprisingly she said thank you and walked back to the office.

As I came back to my desk it was a huge stack of papers on it and that's when I knew it would be a long night for me.

So I called my bestfriend Jamie to tell her I might be a little late tonight.she babysits while I'm away. There is nobody I trust with them but her and also my parents but they are on vacation living there best life.

7pm

I was finally off work and I was extremely exhausted.And I still managed to have more work to take home with me.

I got in my car and started it up and I headed home so I could see my babies and rest for tonight.

I got to the door and I unlocked it and to my surprise I see everybody including Bambi sleep on the couch.

I woke up my bestfriend to let her know I was back.

"Thanks for watching them today,hopefully they wasn't a lot to handle" I said as I started to take off my shoes.

"Girl no problem at all they were both great and they both had food not too long ago"

"I really appreciate it is drew coming to pick you up?" Drew was Jamie's boyfriend a really great guy i really love him for her.

"He's actually outside so I'll see you later love" she said walking out.

After she was gone I locked the door and started to put nikel to bed.

"Mommy you are back" I heard in the sleepiest little voice.

"Hi my love ,you go back to sleep ok"I said trying to get him tucked into bed.

"I sleep in mommy bed tonight?"
I couldn't resist having my baby boy sleep with me because I knew times like this wouldn't last forever.

"Of course go lay in there while mommy goes shower and make her some food"he marched right into my bed and got under my silk sheets with his monster pajamas on.

I gathered everything for my shower and I proceeded to do my whole night routine.

It's nothing better than a hot shower after a long day.

After I got out I put on my clothes and went to check up on my baby.He was fast asleep so I decided to just order Chinese food and go to bed.

After my food was delivered I just put on some cartoons and drifted right to sleep.

Maybe I'm a little old to watch cartoons but honestly I loved them. It is something so refreshing about watching cartoons.

But I slowly drifted off to sleep.
