It was a small apartment in Palo Alto California, there were two bedrooms. Sam, Jayde, and Jessica got the master bedroom, Lily and Rickey got the other bedroom, and Bindi and Roman slept in the living room. It was cramped but Sam grew up with a zillion people in a small impala and enjoyed his friend's and girlfriends' company. It had really become like a big adopted family, the last year for Christmas it was just the seven of them, but they went out and got a Christmas tree (something Sam had never had before) and they got each other presents and cooked dinner and baked cookies and it was really like an average family.

It was the night of October 30th, 2005. it was Sam's turn to sleep in the middle of the bed, it was always his favorite, Jessica and Jayde snuggled on either side of him, their soft breaths on his neck made the nightmares of his past life, the life with his biological family, easier to sleep through, some nights he would wake up screaming and on those nights all the roommates would sit up with him, and comfort him until he felt ok enough to go to sleep. That was another reason why he loved his adopted family, they would comfort him when he needed comfort and he comforted them when they needed comfort. When he was still living with his biological family his father wouldn't let him and his siblings (Dean, Katalie, Loey, and Daisy) comfort each other.

"Sammy, get some sleep, it's late," Jayde mumbled, half asleep, "how do you know I'm awake?" Sam asked, with Jayde being blind it often made him curious about how she knew where he and Jess and the other roommates were "I can feel your breath isn't even," Jayde said "that makes sense, you go back to sleep baby, I'm trying, the voices won't let me though," he said, Sam was 99 percent sure that he was pretty high on the PTSD scale, like he would hear the voices of his father and all the other tough hunters tell him he was weak for wanting comfort from his older brother.

"Tell them I said you need to go to sleep," Jayde mumbled, still half asleep, Sam smiled, he loved having conversations with Jess and Jayde when they were half asleep, they could say the most bizarre and some of the most logical things ever. It also reminded him of when his little sisters Loey and Daisy were over tired and half asleep but could never get to sleep, he, Dean and Katalie would talk to them to see if they could get them to say if dad had told them where they were going next. They never could but they got some laughs out of what they did say. "Ok sweetheart," Sam said.

Jayde nodded and nuzzled her face into his neck, Sam smiled and kissed her head. Jessica shifted and then also nuzzled her face into Sam's neck, "I love you two, so so so much" he mumbled. He kissed both his girlfriends on the head and then rolled over onto his side that was facing Jade and slowly drifted off to sleep. He felt safe in the small apartment, he had amazing friends, amazing partners, and a silver blade under his pillow, they would never know about his past life. But he would always keep them safe if anything ever came knocking.
