Marie POV:
"Now my not so little girl is finally eighteen and now officially graduated from high school. Congratulation my dear." With a proud smile and teary eyes, my Nana tells me while she gives me a warm embrace. "I'm so proud of you, Marie."
"Thank you, Nana, for supporting me. I will be forever grateful of you. I love you so much!" With happy tears, I embrace her tightly. "Enough already, let me hug Nana too." says Vanessa on the side wearing the same deep blue gown as I am wearing. I let Nana go so that Vanessa can hug her too.
"Van, I'm so proud of you also. Thank you for looking out for Marie." Nana says while giving Vanessa an embrace."Oh Nana, it was Marie whose looking out for me, not the other way around." Vanessa say matter-of-factly. We all laugh at her comment. " Always remember that I love you both always." Nana holds our hands together. In unison, we Vanessa and I both say "Ahh... we love you too." And we do the group hug altogether.
Vanessa and I are best of friends since diaper years, gross but its true. My Nana was their house helper, so literally we almost live together our whole life.
Although we are different in so many ways, we use it as an advantage to grow together. So obviously Van is rich. Her father was Atty. Louise Amber, CEO of V. L Law firm and other business. While I on the other hand was one of his scholar, which I'm very thankful of. Van is a party girl, I'm not. Van is athletic, I'm not. Van is sexy and beautiful, I'm just simple. yeah, nothing special about me.
We had a simple dinner that night at a very luxurious restaurant, book by Mr. Amber. To celebrate our graduation, although he cannot come to celebrate with us, Van understands it for she knows that his father is a busy person.
After dinner, Nana and I get to our apartment. Nana is no longer working for the Amber's and this apartment was a gift of Mr. Louise for her hard work. So now I need to find work to support us.
Thanks to Mr. Louise, I can get to uni because of the scholarship. Even though they told me not to look for job, so I can focus on my studies, I decline the offer I fell like I'm a burden to them. Luckily, I find a hiring online, a barista in a café near the campus where Van and I would be staying for college. This is what I prefer, a 10 minutes walk and a high paying part-time job so I can send allowance for Nana.
I'm so ready for the next phase of my life, attending Juilliard School with Van will be my next step to achieve my goal in life and to be a musician someday.
I love to sing, but I love playing music more. Nana told me that my father loved to play while my mother sings for him. Nana told me a lot of things about my parents and by taking this course I know that I can be with them. Van will take dance course.
Excitement ignites me, ill have a month to prepare myself. What ever happens to college, I know I can face it. "Head on, Marie. You can do it! "
