Player 2
I fell onto a bed of golden flowers, landing with a soft thud. "It worked," I said with a wide smile. "It actually worked." I got to my feet. "I'm in Undertale."
That's when I heard some kind of alert. [Warning. Warning. Process unable to run. FUN Value is over 100. FUN Value is over 100. Cannot trace. Process ending.]
That made me wonder something. "Test. Reset."
I fell onto the bed of flowers again. The FUN value changed.
[FUN Value is over 100. Cannot trace.]
I rubbed my chin thoughtfully. "It's a true reset. That means I'm in the same situation as Player. I can't jump through timelines without changing the worldline."
With that figured out, I tried to use a "shortcut." (Aka; teleportation.) My knowledge about how it works comes from a comic called The Thought. According to that, you have to be specific when you teleport. There must be start and endpoints. So I decided to put that to the test.
> Teleport - From: the Runs | To: Snowdin Forest.
Sure enough, I soon found myself in the middle of Snowdin Forest. "Interesting. It seems that The Thought was right." I smirked. "Good to know."
I decided to walk around for a bit. Then, I heard a voice. "Human. Don't you know how to greet a new pal? Turn around and shake my hand."
I did as I was told. When I grabbed the skeletal hand, I heard the sound of a whoopie cushion. Sans laughed. "Heh heh heh. Ah, the old whoopie cushion in the hand trick. It's always funny." His eyes studied me carefully. "I'm Sans. Sans the Skeleton."
"Nice to meet you, Sans," I said with a smile. "I'm Player 2."
His eyes went dark. "You're a player?"
So this version of him knows about players. Okay then. "Indeed, though I'm not the kind of player you may be used to. I have no interest in the genocide route."
"So you're a pacifist player?"
"I guess you can say that."
"What are your intentions?"
"For now I'm just trying to figure some things out. I've only been in this multiverse for a few minutes, so I'm rather new to this whole Out-Code gig."
I felt a shifter down my spine as Sans checked me. "I can't even tell what your stats are," he remarked. "Not even your LV. Theoretically, that only happens when someone's stats are so high they become indecipherable. So there's no telling what you might've done before we met." He sighed. "With that in mind, I'm only going to judge you for things you do while you're here."
I smiled. "Thank you, Sans. I appreciate that."
"No problem kid. Will you be sticking around?"
"I'll be here for a little while. I just need time to figure out dimensional travel. Due to my situation, the FUN Value changes whenever I reset. So I can't travel through timelines."
"I see." Sans shrugged. "Welp, good luck. I'm going to Grillby's. If you need anything, I'm sure you know where to find me." With that, he teleported away.
I teleported to Asgore's house. He wasn't home, so I went over to a mirror and looked at my reflection. My appearance was reminiscent of both Player and Storyshift Chara, albeit with some very clear differences. There seemed to be a bit of Epicshift Chara in my appearance as well. It was unintentional, but I liked it.
My skin was beige instead of gray. I didn't have Player's red ovals, nor Chara's rosy cheeks. However, I did have messy, medium-length red hair and bright ruby eyes with white sclera. My outfit consisted of a white shirt, blue shorts, brown boots, and a dark gray hooded jacket with two red stripes. I was about 5'11" which was a bit taller than I had expected.
