HELLO! I HAVE SERIOUS QUESTIONS!
This is a chicken talk!
First of all, does anyone else have/own chickens, or has in the past? (Particularly Barred Rocks?)
I have 11 hens and a rooster, and have some questions.
1.
Why do their combs grow sideways?
I've got a few who's combs(red mohawk type thing on their head) grow crooked/bent/sideways, and it's really strange! Cuz not all do, so I was wondering if somethings wrong with them-?
2.
Do the eggs freeze in the eggboxes? Like, should I have more stuffings so the eggs and chickens don't freeze in the cold? (This will be my first winter with chickens) We are currently using shavings, but my Nanna suggested straw??
3.
What colour is a normal Barred Rock rooster? Mine is a yellow-orange-black striped one, which is different from the normal ones.I was just wondering if he is some sort of hybrid-?

5. Freckle (me)
6. Corn (little sister)
7. Ormie/Ormy/Ormey (mom named)
8. Rhonda(me, sis and mom)
9. Ernesto (me)
10. Ploopy (Me + Oldest brother)
11. Egglon Musk (Me + Oldest brother)
12. Mufasa Roo (all agreed)
So yep... we JUST finished naming them yesterday, and we've had them for around 7 months..... heh...
