Christian sighed. His breath felt abnormally heavy. His mind wandered with thoughts. A race car. Why isn't he home yet?
Christian got up from his plump cushioned bed, and stood up. Suddenly he heard the front door open. Christians heart leaped like a scared cat. Patrick?
"Hey Christian. I'm back." Patrick his roommate, if only more, called.
"Hey man. Where aauuhh . . . where were you?" Christian asked sheepishly while walking out of his room. His hand placed awkwardly on the back on his neck. Running gently between his overgrown hair.
"Why? Jealous?" Patrick chuckled. Christian laughed nervously.
"heh...me... heheh... I couldn't be. But actually . . .where did you go?" Christians voice shook gently.
"Well I went to Phinnies. Had a few." Patrick's voice grew nervous.
"And you, what, drove here all by yourself? Patrick. I was worried. You left me here to worry about you! Do you know what time it is??" Christian groveled. The more he spoke the more aggressive he became. Patrick was taken back by his forward notion.
"Chris I'm sorry. . ." He mumbled. His brain fumbling over the words.
"Don't "Chris" me right now!" Christian spat. His eyes narrowing. Patrick placed his arm on Christians shoulder. Christian shrugged without making eye contact.
"Chris... please. This isn't us." Patrick's voice became so meak. He wasn't able to function. His head worried with thoughts. Thanks Patrick. "Christian please look at me. Chrissy." Christian looked up, his eyes still cold.
"What..." Christians voice was stiff.
"You know I hate fighting. What's up? Talk to me." Patrick begged. Pleading with fait.
"Who were you with?" Christian spit.
"I went to get some drinks, I talked to the bar tender, then came home. I drank water and sobered up. That's all I promise. . ." Patrick's hands now fully on Patrick. Christian sighed.
"I don't want us to be like this anymore..." Christian admitted.
"Like what?"
"Like this. Friends. Just friends." Christians brows furrowed into his smoothe baby face.
"We're more than friends Christian. We're best friends." Both smiles grew.
"Oh Patrick ...you always know what to say" Christian embraced Patrick. His brightest love.
