His new assignment was one of the harder, more dangerous ones, but he didn't mind. Yoongi's assignments were usually dangerous, and life-threatening but he'd gotten used to that. Matter of fact, it was odd when his missions weren't dangerous. He was confident he would get the job done easily, he was quick, able to do things with high precision, in a short amount of time. Yoongi liked to think that's what was special about him, what made him stand out.
To simplify his assignment, he was ordered to kill someone; another dangerous boss. His boss never gave him details as to why these people needed to die, and Yoongi didn't really care. He only cared about doing his job perfectly, and not getting caught. The one thing he didn't do with utmost perfection was remember his victims' names. It was easier to not humanize them and just think of his mission as an act, or a concept. He understood that this whole organization was made by corrupt people, who hurt other corrupt people, who in turn hurt innocent people. He understood that it wasn't their place to decide who gets to live and who doesn't, it wasn't their place to set the rules and boundaries, decide what is just and what isn't.
He knew that he was a part of the problem, not the solution; but he also knew that he didn't have much of a choice. He'd been here for as long as he could remember, ever since he was picked up from the streets by them, taken under their wing as an orphan, and trained to become a dangerous assassin. An agent. He never thought of any of the people he worked with as his family, just a temporary solution to a temporary problem.
On his mission he went, to a large housing complex that was heavily guarded. He'd been studying its map for a few days, laying out his plan of action carefully, color-coding the spaces within, labeling every hallway, every entrance, and exit until he memorized them by heart; and of course, he was successful. He skillfully slipped through security and navigated his way around the mansion without trouble. He was able to accurately predict where the guards would be stationed and where it would be clear for him to go through. Yoongi made it to the main office, where his target was scheduled to be. As suspected, two security guards were on lookout duty outside, but that didn't phase Yoongi, he knew exactly what he needed to do. He was hiding in the corner of the hallway just out of the guards' sight. He took his gun out and took his shot, instantly killing the first guard, and before the second one was able to react, Yoongi took him out too. He knew he had less than a minute to complete his mission before any of the alarms went off, so he sprinted to the office where his target was, unaware of the two dead bodies outside his door. Within seconds, the seemingly harmless old man, Yoongi's target, was shot and the alarms went off. Of course, Yoongi planned for that. He knew exactly how to get out of the building, and out of the complex through a specific point on the fencing that was low enough for him to jump over, where agent Kim was waiting for him in the getaway car.
Agent Kim Seokjin was one of the few agents that Yoongi trusted, if not the only one. He was like him in a way, they both knew that they were part of the problem, but they had to stay. Agent Kim was a good man, he seemed to care for Yoongi, but Yoongi could never fully reciprocate. He could never let his guard down around him, even when Seokjin did. He knew that none of the agents, none of the workers had any loyalty to the organization, they always put themselves first, or put whoever paid them more first. "Mission comes first" Yoongi always reminded himself, and was sure the others did too. He secretly hoped he would never be put in a situation where he had to go against Seokjin.
By the end of the night, they reported success back to their boss, their target was taken out with minimal casualties, and no evidence was left behind. Yoongi knew better than to leave any evidence behind, even the truck he went to his mission with had been scrubbed clean of all fingerprints or any other traces that might lead back to them. His boss wasn't one to praise or show any sign of satisfaction with the work that his agents did, but Yoongi had worked for him for so long, he knew that his slight nod meant that Yoongi did a good job.
