Tears poured down your face as you struggled against the ropes that kept your wrists and legs bound together, muffled sobs escaping your mouth. Of all people that they could've taken hostage, it had to be you. Why it had to be you was something you couldn't figure out. You continued to struggle as you watched your captors rush around, as if they were preparing for an attack. You eventually gave up on struggling, seeing it won't do any good.

"We have attackers coming in." You heard one of them say, which caused you to perk up.

This caused you to start struggling against your restraints again, desperate to break free. One of the masked men noticed and knocked you out with his weapon, then you fell unconscious.

"Don't eliminate the hostage this time, Fuze." Doc said sternly.

Fuze huffed but acknowledged Doc's statement, preparing for the mission they were assigned. The other operators talked amongst themselves as Fuze sat alone, thinking to himself. He doesn't know why he's always brought along in these types of missions, since he's eliminating the hostage every time. He shook his head as he felt the chopper land away from the building where the hostage was being held in. He rapelled after the others and rushed after them towards the building.

You slowly gained consciousness and opened your eyes to see that you had moved to a different room.

'The hell....' You thought, recognizing it as the children's room.

You were bewildered as to why the White Masks moved you to a different room, eyes looking around the room. You saw something moving on the ground and followed it with your gaze as it moved to where it wouldn't be seen. You looked up to see another White Mask walk in and talk to the other two that were in the room. You couldn't hear what they were saying but one of them kept glancing at you every now and then. This made you uncomfortable as two of them left the room and one stayed in the room. He had a death grip on the gun he held and anxiously glanced around the room, specifically the walls. He was on edge, yet you didn't know why.

Your thoughts were interrupted upon hearing the sound of gunfire within the building. The White Mask raised his gun and was on high alert which caused you to involuntarily scoot back towards the window, hopefully out of harms way. But that failed when something from the other side of the door went off and released cluster charges. You ducked covering your head as the White Mask was hit in the crossfire, causing his gun to go off. Unfortunately, one of the bullets hit your leg and you yelped in pain but the sound was muffled by the piece of tape over your mouth. You felt your own blood slowly flow out of the wound as the door barrier was busted down, revealing someone you hadn't seen before. You whimpered in pain as the stranger walked closer to you carefully, pulling out a hunting knife. You widened your eyes when you saw it and tried to scoot away from them, thinking you were going to die.

You looked away as he, you think, kneeled in front of you. You then felt the rope around your ankles get removed and this caused you to look at the person.

He was......rescuing you.

The tape over your mouth was the next to be removed and you inhaled sharply, feeling a sharp pain in your leg. The rope bounding your wrists together was cut and you immediately rubbed them gently, careful of the raw skin. Without warning, he picked you up bridal style and you didn't fight back. For some reason, you felt safe in the man's arms and they felt familiar to you, like you knew them.

You watched as another person that looked like a medic approached you both. There was a surprised look on his face as if he wasn't expecting to see you.

"Fuze, don't run off like that again!" You heard him say, your vision becoming blurry.

The blood loss was getting to you and you weren't able to make out what the two were saying. The last thing you remember before falling unconscious, was the familiar surface of a medical bed.

~~~~
You slowly woke up and groaned as you sat up, rubbing your eyes. You glanced around the room seeing that you were in a hospital-like room with the curtain around the bed you were in. You moved to sit against the headboard when you felt a sudden pain in your leg, causing you to hiss. The same medic you remembered earlier walked in and you saw a relieved look on his face.
"You're finally awake." He said, going to the machine next to you.
"Where....where am I?" You asked, still trying to wake up.
"You're in the infirmary, you were shot in the leg and lost a lot of blood."
You didn't say anything as you looked down at your leg, seeing a bandage wrapped around it with a slight red spot on it.
"You're lucky he got to you in time," he said suddenly, referring to the man who saved you. "You would've bled out if he didn't."
"Oh." was all you could say.
"You have a visitor, by the way. Do you want me to bring him in?"
Him? You weren't sure who'd be visiting you. It was probably the man who rescued you.
"Sure, I don't mind." You reply.
He nods his head and leaves the room to bring in the visitor. You leaned your head back and stared at the ceiling, thinking about what happened. Why did he make you feel safe? And why was he so familiar to you?
A quiet shuffling made you look over and see that it was, in fact, the person who saved you. He slowly sat next to you as nothing was said. He stared at you but it wasn't a creepy or uncomfortable stare, it was more of a "I'm so glad you're okay" kind of stare.
"Hey, um," you spoke quietly. "Thanks for rescuing me back there."
He was silent for a moment before speaking. "It's no problem."
You recognized the voice but wasn't sure if it was him, you haven't seen him in god knows how long. You swallowed the lump in your throat before you spoke again.
"Shuhrat?" You asked, causing him to tense up. "Is that you?"
You were on the brink of tears because you haven't seen him in so long and you missed him. Slowly, you watched as he took off the mask, helmet, and goggles, revealing his face.
No wonder he felt so familiar to you, he was the friend you thought you lost.
"(Y/n)...." His voice trailed off, not sure what to say.
"I thought I lost you." You said, a single tear falling down your face.
Shuhrat instantly held your face gently, wiping away the stray tear.
"Nyet, don't cry." He said, furrowing his eyebrows. "I'm sorry, I should've sent you something to let you know I was okay."
You only hugged him tightly like he was going to disappear if you let go as more tears threatened to spill over. He comforted you as he hugged back, whispering reassuring things in your ear.
"I'm so glad you're okay." He said.
"And I'm glad I have you again." You say, looking up at him.
