Trapped

Chapter 4 : Doomsday.

I stood in front of millions of bodies drenched in blood with fear stricken eyes marking their last and final emotion.
I couldn't move, I stood there paralyzed. Afraid of what I might encounter if I moved on forward...

Suddenly there was movement, a rustling in the bushes nearby. Without thinking I moved towards them carefully not knowing what to expect. Before approaching I heard an ear piercing scream and animal like sounds tearing something apart coming from behind the bushes. I pushed away the leaves and there in front of me, crept down was a human panting like a dog, their hair falling out in patches. Worst of all blood covered their entire hands,face,and mouth...

I knelt down for a better look and I saw an image I would never in a lifetime forget. The "Human" wasn't eating a stray animal it was eating another human body, worst of all I recognized that gory body it was ...

"Lexi" I chocked on the words barely mouthing them.

Anger rushed through my body, I could feel my blood heat up through my veins. I wanted this MONSTER dead, she or he or it whatever it was had killed my best friend,my rock, my sister . The person that had helped me through every thing. Gone.. In a matter of hours. Her blood sprayed out on all different sides, her chest and arms having been ate by that CANNIBAL.

I couldn't hold back I had to avenge her. I walked towards that monster without a thought. All that was going through my mind was the need for revenge. I realized I had no weapons but then I noticed a gun with 1 single bullet left.
Perfect.

I approached the animal from behind gun in hand. It turned around but it was too late.. I fired the gun and the bullet landed smack in the cannibal's chest. It's final words were

"Taylor and Gabe Forever."

I took Lexi's decapitated body and put it 6 feet underground, a single daisy marking her grave.

It took me a while to realize just exactly what I had done.
Killed another person.
I was disgusted with myself. I would have never imagined me of all people killing someone else. Taking somebody else's life. What has this world turned me into? Now that I'm thinking about it that's the only way to survive this horrible hell we live in. We aren't human anymore , We're all just a bunch of animals . I guess its true what they say,
Kill or be killed.

I walked back to where Alejandro had fainted. Hoping that he had run away so I could cry in the best company. Alone.

He was still there. "Asleep" I didnt know if he was just asleep or dead. I wouldn't mind the second option, Much.

It was getting darker so I decided to stay where we were not having the energy to ditch him and move on to somewhere else.
[12:00 am]
"I don't want to choose !!?!" I yell.
"Choose one and all of this will be over! Be weak and selfish and cause pain and misery upon all those you care for." Says the old man sitting across from me, he resembles a rat with the tiny whiskers above his lower lip and with his beady eyes.

"Why do I have to choose I'm just a nobody!!!?" I say weakly.
"You caused this! Its all your fault!"He says with no remorse.

He's right. I have no other option than to choose one of the two horrible options.
Give in to all my deepest fears
Never being able to escape them.
Or
Shoot the person I love the most.
My mouth utters words I cant hear and suddenly the Rat Man hands me a gun. I can feel the cool metal against my palm. He walks away only saying two words, "Fully loaded" with a grin from ear to ear and a cackle.

I'm not ready for this. I don't even know my most loved one! I'm guessing it's one of my best friends...

I hear footsteps. Oh no she is coming. I can't kill an innocent person much less someone I care for! All my thoughts are suddenly silenced when the person appears. I look to see who it is and my mouth drops open, I can't believe it's HIM!....

I wake up screaming. I can feel arms stretched protectively around me. My mind instantly thinks its Zoe because she found us not long after I came back.

" Zoe, its ok im fine." I say not wanting her to ask me questions about my dream (nightmare) or WHO particularly was in it.

"It's not Zoe..."

At first I think its a joke but then I turn around and she's peacefully sleeping next to me.

"Oh no."
