Jacks pov
"Do we have to do this?" Ava says looking at me, "no. But we should." I know she doesn't want to do this at all. "Jack, you know he was a shitty dad, and I never forget what he said or did, he hated me...he all was will." Ava had a rough childhood which makes me all was feel bad about "Ava, you have to do this tho. It's something everyone does one time in their life. Ask anyone." I pick up Ava's hand "are you ready?" I say "not everyone does this... but now or never I guess..." I hate going to funerals... this one, is for a shitty dad so we will see how this goes...

Ava's pov
"Ava! Ava!" I hear my name 2 times coming from a child who is my favorite cousin, "hey daisy" I say hugging her "why is everyone is black?" "Didn't your parents say?" Daisy shakes her head no "well... someone past away in our family" i hate to say it but he was her family "oh?" "Look where is your mom?" I pick her up "over by the food" okay me,jack,and daisy walk over to the food "aunt Marissa??" I say "AVA! Oh my goodness! Hi! How are you doing with all of this?... wait who's this with you???" That's a lot of questions for a person to say... "hi, I'm okay, and this is jack my boyfriend." Her eyes widened as I say boyfriend "boyfriend!? It's nice to meet you Jack"

Later (still at the funeral)
"I'm ready to go the hotel" I say looking a jack as everyone is leaving the funeral "Ava, you don't want to watch him get dropped into his final resting place?" I don't I hated my dad "no. Can we leave?" I hated today... "sure, but say goodbye to your mother." Jack is being a dad again "okay fine... dad." I had to.

Jacks pov
as we walk over to Ava's mom "hey mom. We're going back to the hotel, are you doing okay?" Ava say before anything else happens "yeah yeah, I'm good, leave, go do whatever, I know you didn't like your dad." Wow that's really what Winona says to her own daughter "oh Kay... bye mom, love you." Ava did say I love you? "Bye Ava, love you too."

As we walk to the car I say "you guys didn't say 'I' love you..." Ava's face say 'no really' "no we never did, never will."
