Two days later
Tejaswini was looking at the photo Pandit ji gave her.
“Her family holds a very significant position in their region. They are quite traditional and connected to their roots.” Pandit jii tells her.
“Overall, the family background matches your family. Rest is your decision.” He adds.
Tejaswini sighs loudly, “I know their family, have met aunty jii personally. Anyone will be glad to establish a connection with their family. But…. Ishika and Abhiraj, I don't think it will work. Ishika is certainly not a girl Abhiraj will look at twice. I know him.”
“I don't have anything else to say. You asked me to find a girl whose birth chart matches Abhiraj's.
Coincidentally, they both have a chart comprehensively matching each other. Rest, I have told you the complications in your son's life.
These things are rare and by God's grace, we found a girl so soon. It was just an intuition, I felt that she might be the girl.” Pandit jii says, understanding why Tejaswini ain't ready, but fate can't be fought.
Harsh who was silently listening to the conversation interrupts.
"Will they have any issues in their marriage life?" He questions, assuming if he could tell so much about their kids then he can definitely tell about their future.
"Let me check." Pandit ji says.
Tejaswini glances at Harsh. He gives her a look, " You should trust our upbringing. Physical beauty isn't something that will help in strengthening a marriage bond. It's not constant."
"But she is at least a foot shorter than him. She has a darker skin tone, her her features are average. Overall she is average looking." she reluctantly words out what's spiralling in her mind.
"It Doesn't Matter Tejaswini. What actually matters is that she is someone who'll have our son's back, who'll always support him. Keep our family together. How does this correlate with how beautiful she is or how nicely she complements our son in a gathering?" Harsh questions, gruffiness dripping from his toung.
His wife's words didn't settle well with him.
"I have met this girl. She is a lecturer at our school. One of the best in our faculty. I don't have any problem with her being a new member of our family." He says, remembering his encounter with her in several teachers' meetings.
Still seeing Tejaswini's unsure face, "Trust me." He assures her.
Before She says anything else pandit jii interrupts.
"Okay, so after their marriage, there will be issues between the couple, but I am not getting any clear indications of divorce, but their 9th house lord is settled in lower degree, separation may or may not happen. Rest pray to God. Every relationship needs hard work. This is just an indication. The Future depends on your today's doing. If they will not put efforts then....." He states.
The couple nods in understanding. Delimma hitting them like it never did.
" You tell them that it's a yes from us and we'll contact them soon." Tejaswini says, leaving the rest on fate.
Harsh gets up to bring sweets to gift Pandit jii as gratitude.

Ishika's PovSame day. 8:30 pm
Everyone is settled in the dining area, having dinner.
"Rajvanshs' said yes to the proposal." Dadi drops the news.
When did they send the proposal?
How can a man agree to marry me through a picture? A decent guy would never do that.
Is she marrying me off to a man from her village or a divorce?
Tear filling me eyes. My assumptions are horrendous.
What if the man turns out to be the one I have been dreading my whole childhood? I have heard her wail through the night, his each shout were like the spike through my skin. Troubling me in my dreams.
Chills run through my body, moisture collecting on my forehead.
No that won't happen to me. I would never let that happen.
I won't let that happen to me. I keep repeating it to myself.
"You should be happy, they agreed." Dadi says, throwing daggers at me.
"I am." I murmur softly, putting my emotions at bay.
"They want to meet us this weekend. It appears to me that they are in a hurry to get their son married." Dad says, ignoring my wariness.
"Ishika?" Dadi snaps me out of my thoughts.
"Jii." I mumble.
"I want you to look for a hostel or an orphanage for the boy soon.
And remember his hostel charges won't be paid by any of us. So think before taking a decision. I want him out within a week. " Dadi points out, looking at me.
"Excuse Me." My eyes flare in anger. Heat scalding my face and neck.
Desbielf erased any of the emotion clogging me.
Why the hell can she not understand I won't do that?
"Ishika!!" Mummy warns me.
I take a deep breath, attempting to calm my nerves, "Dadi I won't do that." I say, pressing every single word out of me.
"Ivaan will live with me. Wherever I go." I say in a final tone.
"Fine then. If in future anything happens. REMEMBER that the door of this place will always be closed for you. You will be the sole owner of all your doings after this marriage." She shouts in anger before storming back to her room.
Papa and mummy glare at me before leaving the room.
I helplessly look around hoping Ivaan didn't hear any of it.
But when the hell the did things turn out the way I want...
Ivaan is standing near the Kitchen, an ice cream cup in his hand. His eyes filled with tears.
I quickly run towards him, picking him up in my arms.
I gently wipe his face cooing him in my chest.
"Shh, bubba why are you crying? I promised you naa that I'll never leave you. Then why are you minding Badi Nani's words? Hmm?" I softly murmur in his ears, carrying him into my room.
"Th..en Wh... y was she sa..ying Like th..at?" He sobs.
"She was angry and you know she doesn't think before speaking when she is angry. That's why. Don't take her words seriously." I gently lay down his tiny self in my bed.
Brushing his hair off his forehead, "I'll never leave you. Remember that."
"Pro...mise." He says in broken words.
"Promise," I say, dropping a gentle kiss on his cheek.
To be continued...
