Before he became a kind demon.
As soon as he woke up, he woke up with a smirk on his face. He did a backflip out of the bed, and looked into the mirror, topless. He flexed his muscles and pushed back his messed up yet shiny black hair.
"What should I wear to impress my servants?"
The young man looked through his wardrobe. He looked through the several expensive robes, kimonos, and hakamas he had hanging. His favorite robe wasn't there.
"Where is my favorite robe? I bet it's those stupid women. They probably hid it or stole it because they hate me. Well too bad, I'm too good enough for them anyway. That's why they're my servants!"
He continued to look through his wardrobe, but couldn't find anything.
"I don't have that many robes left! I only have my ugly navy robe and my uglier brown robe and my ugliest yellow robe...I guess I'll go with the navy one. Tch."
Rolling his eyes, the young man put on the navy robe. He looked into the mirror, going from a frown to a grin.
"Eh I lied... I look good. Now it's time for those peasants to help me. They better get me my robe back!"
The man waltzed to the door, leaving his room a mess and his bed unmade."You're all so lifeless! Maybe dress up before coming before your great lord?" The young man scoffed at the townspeople.
The townspeople didn't dare to say anything. They wanted to avoid threats and harm from the entitled man. Still, they rolled their eyes, standing before him.
"....What do you need, my lord?" One woman asked.
"We're ready for our cleaning duties... as always." Another man uttered.
"I need something to eat. You stinky peasants should get cooking for me. And the rest of you can clean up. But first, maybe clean up your attire! You're all dirtier than my room!"
The townspeople went into his castle, setting everything up so they could clean. At the same time, the other townspeople went into his kitchen and assorted the ingredients. The young man walk with a purpose behind them and was angry.
"Hey! So are all of you just going to stand there or what? Make me something to eat!"
"Well if you could just tell us what exactly you want! Then maybe-" A man retorted.
"Uhm... what would you like us to make you, my lord?" Another woman interrupted softly.
"You all are so stupid. What do I eat every morning? I eat miso soup, salmon, and onigiri! It's so basic, get to work." He rolled his eyes and scoffed.
"As you wish... my lord..." An old woman replied.
The old woman slowly grabbed the pot and water, and smiled back at the young man.
"It's okay, take your time. I...I don't want your joints to break, so just take your sweet time and... make me wait. I don't mind." The young man made a huge smile.
After 10 minutes, his miso soup and rice were made. His onigiri was still being made.
"You all are taking so long... I think I can use some tea too. Yes, add some tea too! You all get working even harder for your lord. I'll be back in a bit, I'm going to check on the cleaning pests." He marched to the door.
He went into his room, and saw the townspeople hurrying up to clean the room. As a result, the room did not exactly look neat. His wardrobe has also been picked with, which had him outraged. He spotted a woman gently looking through his closet.
"So which one of you is messing with my robes?!"
"Oh sorry, my lord... I just can't help but look through your fancy clothing! Sorry sir." A woman nervously added.
"Where's my favorite black robe? The one with orange on it? "
"...I don't know!"
"Where. Is. It?" He got close to the woman.
"I only looked at your robes! I didn't take anything, I swear!"
"So then where did it go?!"
"I only looked at your clothing, that's all I ever did!"
"...So am I just supposed to believe one of my peasants like that?"
"My lord... I don't know what else you want to hear. I can always buy you one if it's that much of a threat to your... so called handsome face."
"She's right... and you always brag about how you look! You need to stop!"
"My grandfather looks more handsome than him, I don't know what y'all are saying."
The young man looked at them in shock and anger. He immediately grabbed his katana on his side, ready to pull it out.
"Okay okay... he's going to kill us over a robe. So let's just get this room clean... cleaner than his attitude."
"Why don't you go eat? I heard you yelling at the people from across the room. Maybe don't yell at them this time."
"....You all better have this room as clean as my skin when I come back!" The young man walked away.
"We'll leave it as rotten as your personality, actually." A townsperson murmured.
The young man saw the assortment of food on the table. The townspeople were already cleaning up the pots and ingredients that were used, but paused when they saw the young man.
"Well... my lord..... you certainly had fun yelling at people!"
"We finished your food. We hope you like it... as always."
"And my joints didn't break, youngster."
The young man sat down, and tossed his hair back.
"....Aren't you all going to clean? Keep cleaning! I'm just eating.. I don't know what much of a difference it makes. Ugh."
As soon as he tasted the food, he spat it out. He drank the tea in hopes to wash the taste away, but sprayed the tea everywhere.
"W-what did you all do today?! That was nasty!"
"My lord... we did the same as usual. We didn't change the routine, I don't-"
"You all better make me something better next time! I really deserved a better lunch."
"We're sorry..." a woman teared up.
"You all just... get out! You're all too useless to be here! Go!"
Without a problem, all of the townspeople scurried out of the place, smiling as they did. Even the crying woman was smiling. The young man gave them all a death stare before heading to his room to check on the others.
"How's my room- ugh, it looks the same. How slow are you all? You all know I have war to deal with! Hurry up!"
"Since when, sir? You always leave your men-"
"Eh... let's get this done." A townsperson interrupted.
He noticed how they all gracefully walked and didn't even try to clean up. They were all taking their sweet time, not caring about how the room looked.
"You know what... all of you need to leave. You're all just nasty and effortless! Go away!"
Once again, the happy townspeople ran out of the place, this time making comments as they left.
"Did you smell his room? It's as filthy as his personality."
"He really thinks he's all that, doesn't he?"
"I don't know what's making him think he's better than us. He may be handsome, but he's rude! I don't know why anybody would respect that in a man!"
The young man closed the doors and sat down. He combed his hair and fanned himself.
"They really think I'm going to be nice to peasants? They should think again!"
He peeked outside, and saw the townspeople doing their own things.
"Look at them. They're either too skinny, fat, or old! Or weak! And luckily, I'm neither. So happy I don't have to be a townsperson. And I don't have to live under my imperfect parents either, hehe."
