The surfer and his ghost

In the beginning

Once there was a little boy named Casper. He had had a crush on this guy, Kellen for a while now. So, at the end of the year, he and his best friend at the time, Maddie, decided that, on the last day of school, they would shout their crushes' names down the hallway.

Finally, the day came, and Casper was feeling pretty nervous. He knew it was the last day of school, and that, after summer, no one would care, but that didn't change anything. He would care and he desperately wanted Kellen to like him back.

Finally, the last bell rings, and everyone dashes out of the building. Making sure their crushes were still there, Casper and Maddie both shouted their crushes' names down the hallway

They looked at each other in utter shock. Had they just shouted the same name?

"I never knew you liked Kellen?!" Casper said in total shock at the situation. Caz had always told Maddie all the details of his crush. Of how he loved when his eyes glimmered in the sunlight. Or how he was the sweetest, most genuine guy he had ever laid eyes on. Maddie KNEW he liked him and had never even thought for ONE SECOND to mention that she liked him too!

Heartbroken, confused, and, honestly, afraid, Casper ran down the hall, a single tear running down his face.

Kellen, standing just down the hall, had heard all of this. He had never liked Maddie, even in the slightest, but Casper, though he had never formally " liked him" per se, intrigued him.

Very confused, and now questioning his sexuality, he walked out into the summer sun, leaving Maddie stranded in the empty hallway.
