"knock knock!" Niki said in singsong while knocking on Sunoo's door. He stood by the door waiting for the older's response, they would usually meet up at the gates and walk home together but Sunoo was nowhere to be found.
"w-wait!" Sunoo stumbled out of bed, still wrapped in his blanket
It took a while for Sunoo to get to the door, when he finally opened the door he was greeted by a big, tight hug
"Sunoo!!" Niki said excitingly, laying his chin on Sunoo's shoulder.
"I was finding for you in school but you weren't there, where were you?" Niki complained
"I told you not to come here Niki" Sunoo sighed
"And why not?" Niki stood up properly and finally saw it, Sunoo's face was red, his hair was messy and it looked like he was shivering even though it wasn't cold and still covered in a blanket, Niki brought the back of his hands to Sunoo's forehead.
'fuck' Niki was surprised by how warm his forehead was
"It's hot, you have a fever," Niki said "hyung why didn't tell me I could've helped" Niki complained
'look what you did kim sunoo' Sunoo sighed
"I didn't want you to worry, I can take care of myself Nik-" Sunoo brought his hand to his head, He's vision blurred, His legs began to wobble and suddenly, his knees dropped. Luckily Niki was close and caught him.
"Sunoo?"
"I can take- " Sunoo said before he started coughing, gripping Niki's arms
"let's get you to bed" Niki stated and wrapped Sunoo's arm around his shoulder for support
"Niki I-" Sunoo started objecting
"Hyung it's fine, let me take care of you" Niki pleaded
"But you-"
"just for today, please" Niki pleaded again, Sunoo looked at Niki's pleading eyes and Niki looked at Sunoo's tired fox eyes. they remained in eye contact until Sunoo looked down and sighed.
"Fine" he finally gave in
Niki helped Sunoo get to bed, beside it were bottles of pills, way too many.
Niki has heard that Sunoo would frequently be sick because of his illness but today was the first time he actually witnessed it.
Sunoo lied down in bed looking at the ceiling
"I didn't want you to see me like this..."He whispered, slowly closing his eyes.
"It's fine, you don't look as bad as you think" Niki kinda reassured, 'even when you're sick you look beautiful..' He thought but couldn't say
"haha how reassuring" Sunoo said flatly, Niki brought his hand to Sunoo's, making the older look at him
"You have to get better, when you do we can buy a tub of mint choco ice cream and watch kdramas together." He said it so seriously it made Sunoo snort
"You're so cute Niki" Sunoo chuckled, His eyes closing, he didn't see the hint of red that was on the younger's cheeks and the way his eyes went wide.
"G-get better ok?" Niki stuttered still surprised by Sunoo's comment
"mm"
Sunoo began to doze off, Niki cleaned up the mess in the room and wet a towel with ice water before putting it on Sunoo's forehead. He made soup, it wasn't the best but it was edible, they'd eat it when Sunoo woke up, He prepared Sunoo's medicine and some water for later.
After everything was dealt with Niki kneeled beside the bed and lifted his hand and brought it to Sunoo's cheeks, Niki sighed in relief
'it went down' Niki smiled at the sleeping boy in front of him, the older snored so softly that you wouldn't hear it if you weren't close. With the sunlight on his face, Sunoo looked like a sleeping angel.
Niki held Sunoo's hands and laid his head on the bed
'Please get better' he gripped Sunoo's hands softly
'Please get better " for the first time in a while, Niki prayed, he didn't know who he prayed to but he did.

Sunoo woke up, feeling better than he did a few hours ago, he adjusted his eyes to everything around him, the sun was already down and it was dark out.
Sunoo thought he woke up like how he does every other day, but today, he felt a pair of hands holding his. He kissed the younger's forehead and got up, he saw everything was cleaned, and his medicine was prepared on the table.
he smiled back at the boy with awe.'Niki... thankyou'
Sunoo took a quick shower and returned to the room with Niki just waking up, when the younger woke, he stood up quickly and started turning his head, panicking, when he finally locked eyes with Sunoo he sighed in relief. Niki stood up and hugged Sunoo's waist, laying his head on the older's shoulder, he let out a shaky breath
"I thought you were gone..." the younger sighed, Sunoo put his hand on Niki's head and started patting it
"I won't leave you Niki, never." Sunoo whispered,
"good." Niki said, Sunoo couldn't see it but he knew the younger smiled.
