I'm a detective in ohio given an assignment to investigate a small abandoned town named Atwood. I didn't live too far away so I accepted. I went early in the morning and on my way there I was wondering why I was given an assignment there but when I got there I already noticed something weird the town looked unscathed like it was never abandoned. I walked around looking in most of the buildings unable to find any sign of life "how could this be?" I said to myself "the inside of the buildings looks like they been abandoned for years but the outside look incredible almost brand new." I stuck around inside the old bar waiting to see if anyone would show up noone ever did but while I was sitting alone I heard movement in the rooms above me I couldn't check the noise out though the wooden stairs were old and rotten they didn't look like they would support my weight. It was getting to be nighttime so I was starting to leave but when I got outside I heard movement behind the bar I went to investigate. When I got back there I found the source of the noise a raccoon was chasing after a grasshopper "you scared me little guy."I said to it as it ran away. It was dark out now so I was heading back to my car when a door to one of the buildings shot open. I jumped putting my hand above my gun "who's there!" I yelled but no answer. I began to walk towards the building when another door shot open and another. "Alright I'm done playing come out now!!" I yelled and after that I finally saw what was messing with me. It was an old towns member he was a tall heavyset guy brown hair but that's where his human features ended he was bent over with several bumps on his back as if his spine was fractured in several different places his skin was pure red and his eyes were black with his head slightly tilted to the right. He was walking with a limp like one of his legs were broken. "FREEZE!!" I yelled but he didn't stop he kept walking then from the other buildings more townspeople who had the same inhuman features he had. I pulled my gun "All of you stop right now or I'll shoot!" They didn't comply the first guy I saw was near me now with his mouth open showing blood stained teeth. I took a shot at him the bullet went straight through him and it didn't even phase him. There was a gap between the crowd leading to my car so I ran. When I got to my car I started to open the door when one of those things fell on my ankle and bit me but I was pumped full of adrenaline so I didn't feel it. I shook it off and got in my car feeling tired I started the car and started to drive off I looked back and realized those things weren't following me but instead just just standing there staring at me as I drove off. I was getting close to town when I felt overwhelmingly tired I passed out at the wheel. I woke up in a hospital two days later during sundown a doctor told me what had happened but suprisingly enough I had no injuries. He left the room 20 minutes later. Then the sun went down and that bite started to burn...........and the worst part.............my skin was turning red.
