A light knocking caught the project group's attention, pausing the rumble and grumble between them. One of them, a man in glasses, starkly turned to see his daughter gingerly step through the door.

"Sorry I'm late," Takira said, settling her bags by the side of the door. She nudged them close to avoid getting in the way of the narrow walkway leading to the center of the room. "Where do you need me?"

The man smiled widely, "Over here Taki, Hada-kachou has already started." He squeezed Taki's shoulder as she walked over. His dark hair tilted as he glazed over her office attire, nodding.

Taki half-waved to the project leader, Hideki Hada, who instantly stopped debating with a colleague and looked over at her with a big smile. He hadn't changed a day since she and her dad moved here. He was her dad's boss and recruiter for Kenki Support, and often traveled to the branch in America where her dad formerly worked. He was the one who offered the job in Japan. He also knew Taki ever since she was a little kid.

"There she is, our hero!" he clapped, instilling the rest of the bright-minded engineers to join in. Taki flushed as fifteen-or-so people congratulated her. She brushed back a blue strand unsuccessfully. Mr. Hada continued, "Tandou-san hasn't stopped talking about you ever since that article was released."

The group collectively chortled as Tandou flushed in tandem with Taki. She raised an eyebrow at him, half-smiling at his embarrassment and also relieved to see he hadn't changed either. He angled his nose at Mr. Hada, "Excuse me, but we really need to get back to-"

"Please, take your seat and tell us how you are doing!" Hideki gestured to Taki's setup.

Taki looked over the desk next to her. As soon as they landed in Japan, her dad's first task was to visit the site as soon as he could to meet the team and settle in. He fought tooth and nail to claim a desk space in the gear building room, let alone a computer for Taki to work on. Taki insisted she didn't need one, since she wasn't even contracted by the company in the first place, but he somehow made it work. Now she was looking at a high-tech, sleek yet ergonomic desktop computer she had ever laid eyes on - she audibly gasped at it. They even bought a brand new chair, which she carefully sat down in and brushed the crisp leather arm rests. The keyboard and computer screen was freshly sprayed clear of debris and the mouse pad had wrist support. Her eyes stayed wide as she contained her glee of excitement. This- this is the computer I've always dreamed of!
