Skarloey is a hard-working, Confident and brave little engine taking coaches up and down the line and being useful at the blue mountain quarry.
One night at the sheds Rheneas was talking about his sister Rose and how life was with her which made Skarloey wonder deep in thought about his older sister Blade. "Are you okay Skarloey?" Rheneas asked looking concerned. "Yes Rheneas, I'm fine," Skarloey said with a fake smile and just closed his eyes. All the other engines were worried especially Rheneas because he was Skarloey's best friend.
The next morning, the thin controller came up to the sheds to see Skarloey. "Skarloey, there's a new engine coming to our railway and I would like you to show her what to do." He said. "Yes Sir!" Replied Skarloey. "The new engine will be arriving at Crovans Gate shortly." After that, the thin controller left and Skarloey puffed up to Crovans Gate Station to wait for the New engine.
