FINNEY CLUTCHED THE GIRL IN FRONT OF HIM ON INSTINCT!

The screams were out of initial shock, from the sudden swallowing and blindness. Until they weren't.

Screams became pained gasps, pleads and shaking hands feeling through the darkness for whoever they'd come from. Some people clung onto the closest body they could find, only to end with a gaping hole in their chest.

Finney's heart raced as he clung onto Cherry, his mind spinning in fear. He couldn't see anything, the only guide he had was the feel of her skin beneath his fingers and the sound of her breathing.

She had no plans of letting go. Her hand grasped over his wrist as they tried to make their way out of the school but it was no use.

Every single one of the gym entrances had been closed off from the outside.

Robin was escorting all of the people out front towards the exits. They all collectively scrambled for their phones, overwhelming 911 with each of their calls.

Somebody, on their way in, had locked the door behind themselves. Robin had been searching for the key when the screams erupted.

With the exits blocked, the only option left was to find somewhere to hide. Some people were crouched in hidden spaces. The screaming and shuffling didn't stop, serving as ways for V to find new targets, like a game of Marco Polo.

Vance and Mia were trying the back door but it was no use. Something on the outside was blocking it off and nobody in their right mind was going to come back to help.

Vance felt someone move towards him and his girlfriend. He felt for his knife, holding it out, the metal catching the other person's gaze.

"Chill! Chill!" The voice whispered as lowly as they could manage.

"Max." Mia realized, catching her breath. "Are you... are you okay?"

"I'm good." Max confirmed but her movements were unstable.

Mia wanted to catch her but Vance held her back. They needed to keep as quiet and still as possible, but she refused to just do nothing. She took the other girl's wrist. Together, they felt around for the table.

The trio crawled under, trying to keep incognito as others ran around them.

Cherry and Finney had hidden themselves inside the photo booth. Their horrified expressions were captured in three different images.

Some tried to find methods of fighting off the attacker. With V's efficiency, it was almost like they were everywhere and nowhere.

Students used vases and chairs as methods of defense. Their impromptu weapons were nothing compared to a knife.
