"Sweetheart is the worst! I can't imagine anyone being in love with her!"

That's what Aubrey said. But she knew she was lying. Especially when she saw Sweetheart about to marry herself.

Getting ready for the climax of the big event, Sprout Mole Mike adjusted his microphone and announced, "... Now... Does anyone object to this holy matrimony? Speak now or forever hold your peace!"

He waited for a moment to let anyone speak. Aubrey bit her lip in worry, trying to figure out what to do. Should she let Sweetheart continue with the marriage, or should she interject? If it went wrong, their hiding spot would be compromised, and her and all of her friends would be sent to THE DUNGEON again. They were able to escape last time, but they might not be able to this time.

Nobody spoke, so Sprout Mole Mike continued, "In that case... By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you... Sweetheart and Sweetheart! You may now kiss the-"

Aubrey couldn't hold herself back any longer. She stood up from her hiding spot behind the chair and ran out into the aisle, yelling, "I OBJECT!! STOP THIS WEDDING IMMEDIATELY!!"

The spotlight moved itself to be on Aubrey, but she didn't care. She had to stop Sweetheart before she made a mistake. Sliding her fingers underneath her Sprout Mole mask, she removed it in one swift motion.

"Don't do this, Sweetheart! This wedding is a sham... Loving yourself is one thing, but... this is taking it way too far!"

Sweetheart flared red, angry at the girl. She didn't understand why Aubrey had to ruin everything, or why she always kinda hoped she would. "NOT YOU AGAIN!! How dare you step foot back in here! GUARDS!? GUARDS!?!?"

Aubrey sighed and fumbled with the mask in her hands as she spoke, "Sweetheart... You're making a mistake. You can't just marry yourself... There's someone out there for you... I know it!" The guards were now making their way towards Aubrey, and she was starting to worry that she wouldn't have enough time.

Kel furrowed his brow and snuck to the edge of the chairs, making sure to stay covered as he whispered-yelled to his friend, "Aubrey, what are you doing...? She's going to send us to THE DUNGEON again..."

Sweetheart drew the attention back to her by making an annoyed sound while crossing her arms, "Hmph... You understand nothing, Aubrey. I was a young princess once. I, too, once thought that there was someone for me out there in the universe... But that's all in the past now. I no longer believe in true love! I'll never love anyone else ever again! The only person I'm going to love from now on is myself!" The audience had started to whisper amongst themselves, shaming Aubrey.

Realising there was no other way to get through to the princess, Aubrey placed her left hand on her chest and yelled out, "The reason why you can't marry yourself is because I want to marry you!"

At this, the audience hushed, all except for a whispered "what?!" coming from Kel. Sweetheart found it hard to continue being angry. She couldn't believe what she had just heard. She didn't want to admit to herself that she had feelings for Aubrey, she had been hurt too many times before. What if she just ended up getting hurt again?

But what if she didn't get hurt? What if it ended up working out?

She wouldn't know unless she took the chance.

Sweetheart walked down the aisle, the guards parting for her as she passed. Aubrey couldn't help but blush at how beautiful the princess looked in her wedding dress. As Sweetheart reached the common girl, she lifted her chin up with her hand and looked her in the eyes. "Do you really mean that?"

Aubrey nodded, a serious look painting her face, "I really mean it, Sweetheart. I love you."

The princess smiled and leaned downwards, kissing Aubrey delicately, short and sweet. Upon pulling away, Sweetheart turned outwards to the audience while keeping her eyes locked on Aubrey's as she yelled, "MARRY ME AUBREY... HERE AND NOW!!"

"Yes!! Yes, of course!!" Aubrey's face lit up with excitement. Sweetheart clapped her hands twice, and two sprout moles wearing pink bows ran up to Aubrey and pulled a wedding dress over her head, now wearing it on top of her usual clothes. It was beautifully made, and complemented Sweetheart's perfectly.

"You just had a second one lying around?" Aubrey questioned as she examined the flowing gown. The princess smiled and waved her hand, as if she was talking about common knowledge, "Of course! What if I decided at the last minute that I didn't like the one I was wearing? Wardrobe disaster waiting to happen, dear." Aubrey nodded her head, she was still confused but decided to not worry about it.

Sprout Mole Mike, seemingly unfazed by all of this, motioned to the Sprout Mole Choir. The Choir began to sing, each row occasionally being hit by tomatoes when they started to doze off. The lights suddenly dimmed with a loud switch noise, and Sweetheart gently grabbed Aubrey's hand as they walked down the aisle together.

Kel was shocked. Bamboozled, even. He had no clue how Aubrey had managed to get away with that, even more so that she actually liked the princess. Hero gave the two ladies a thumbs up as he smiled at them, relieved it wasn't him against his will. Omori was, ah, Omori.

The two stepped over pre-laid rose petals as they made their way to the altar. Upon arriving, Sprout Mole Mike cleared his throat, "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you... Sweetheart and Aubrey!! You may now kiss the bride!"

Aubrey cupped the princess's cheeks with her hands and leaned in, kissing her. Sweetheart smiled and returned the kiss.

The Sprout Mole audience cheered loudly, throwing confetti into the air in celebration. Amongst the crowd, Kel decided to run with it and cheered louder than the others, pumping his fist in the air. The newly wed brides pulled away from their kiss and hugged before holding each other's hands as they spun around in circles, the confetti falling around them. The audience soon joined in, everyone now dancing as Virtuoso Mole put on some music on speakers instead of a choir.

Everyone hung out for a while, but eventually Aubrey and Sweetheart were able to pull away and went outside to the balcony.

They leaned against the banister, staring out to the woods that surrounded the castle.

"You know, I can't believe what you did out there. That was stupid brave. And to think I was almost about to marry myself and throw away my chances of finding true love," Sweetheart spoke, playing with a rose that she had picked up earlier.

"I couldn't just stand by! It hurt to watch you about to do that... That you were hurting enough to want to do that... It just makes me sad. You deserve so much more than that."

Sweetheart smiled at the passion laced into Aubrey's voice.

The common girl, now turned royalty, turned her face towards her wife, "So what now? What happens next?"

"You didn't have a plan??" Sweetheart questioned. "Ah, no, not really," Aubrey spoke, "I just knew I had to stop you before you ended up doing something dumb."

At this, the princess giggled to herself, "Well, whatever happens, I'm glad I get to go through it with you." A genuine smile spread across her face as she lifted the rose in her hand and placed it in Aubrey's hair, resting it above her ear. She paused and watched as Aubrey's face of confusion turned into a shy smile, then said, "Pink is such a pretty colour on you."
