Sophie looked around at what seemed to be a neighborhood and her senses were flooded with a sense of fear and emerged into an open space as an almost full moon hung in the clear red sky outlining every grass stem and leaf with a pale silver raise just in front of her the ground fell away into a cleft with rocks jutting from its steep sides, Sophie turned around and soon stared in astonishment as she saw her old house all fixed and everything and she realized this was where she used to live and realized the murders, her sibling's deaths, her parents going missing, the pills. had been nothing more than a dream so Sophie ran down the road her heart nearly bursting with happiness in a few heartbeats she would see everyone she loved again, Jack would have never gone missing, her siblings would be happy and Rose would be painting the picture she hadn't finished of her and Jack. Trembling with excitement Sophie pushed her way through
the front door her jaws parted to let out a yell of greeting. Then she stopped dead, the house was completely empty exept for one man standing alone in the middle of the open space, the man raised his head and gazed at Sophie with soothing brown eyes, it was Jack Walten.
Sophie almost choked with shock and disbelief, Her mother's death, Her Siblings' Corpses, and the endless Journey of Bunny Farm, All those things were Real. This was the dream. Suddenly it had become a nightmare, Jack beckoned Sophie to come closer, and Sophie stiffened and walked slowly forward as she drew closer she saw her father more clearly, his muscular shoulders, his broad head, his horrifyingly wide smile.
"Welcome," Jack rumbled "I have waited many years to speak with you."
Sophie stopped a couple of feet away, she had no idea what to say all she could think was that she was the image of her father, the breadth of his shoulders, the shape of his head, the exact smile and shade of his eyes, it was like starring at her reflection in a pool.
"I have seen your courage and strength" Jack went on. "I am proud to call you kin."
"Uhm?... Thank you?" Sophie felt confused. "why have you come here? Did Showbear send you?"
"I do not hunt with Showbear." spat Jack. "there is more sky than the silent stars you see above you tonight in the red skies. and there are grounds that not even Showbear knows of" his gaze slid past his daughter. "Welcome. I had hoped you would come. I looked forward to seeing you"
A man with his bones ripping through his flesh and his cheekbones stabbing through scabby flesh his jaws ripped apart and mauled by what seemed like a bear, his blond hair covered in his blood, with entrails sticking out of his stomach had walked through
Sophie watched in stunned silence as Brian walked over to them and sat beside her.
"Are you Jack Walten?" Brian Asked, reminding Sophie that she was the main reason Brian had been killed in the first place.
Jack nodded. "I am." he looked over at Sophie. "so how are things now that you remember?"
"its hard being in a mindset so diffrent." Sophie admitted "i miss how things used to be."
Jacks eyes widened and he raised his head as if he heard a voice calling him the windows were growing pale with the first lights of dawn.
"i must go now." the grey man said with a raspy voice "goodbye Sophie,.... Brian. we will meet again as we walk the path of dreams. That i am sure."
he rose to his feet for a momment a cloud drifted over the face of the moon plunging everything into darkness for a single heartbeat when it cleared Jack was gone.
"i must go too.." Brian touched hands with Sophie and walked out of the old house.
"NO! wait! dont go!" Sophie called.
"i have to go Sophie."
things soon turned black and sophie woke up in her bed sweating and shaking.
She looked over at Jenny and looked around the room and sighed.
"Just a Dream." Sophie mumbled.
