I wake with a gasp for air, my lungs feeling dehydrated and painful. As I gasp for air, my lungs close, blocking off the air from entering.
I widen my eyes in terror, looking around frantically. My eyes land on the ocean and instinct took over. I don't know why instinct made me drag myself to the ocean but it just did.
I dove into the ocean, taking a deep breathe of the water. As soon as the water entered my mouth, it evaporated and filled my lungs with oxygen.
I whimper as I look around me. Was I really in the ocean breathing water?
Feeling a hand on my waist, I quickly whirled around, only to relax when my eyes land on Namor.
"How do you feel?" He asks, underwater, might I add.
"How-" I freeze when I realize I can talk underwater too.
"Do not panic." He says, "This is natural, you may speak."
"What is happening to me?" I whimper, grasping onto his shoulders with my hands.
His eyes trail down my arms and to my hands which grasp onto his muscular shoulders. "You are developing," he murmurs, "to become one with the ocean."
"Become one with the ocean?" I laugh in terror, "What the hell is this? I'm going back to the land."
He frowns as I swim away from him and up to the shore. It didn't feel right as I hauled myself onto the sand, gasping for air desperately.
None came, making me sob and lie down on the sand, drowning in oxygen. Black splotches begun invading my vision, no doubt me about to pass out.
As my eyelids shut, I felt a pair of hands on my waist.
