Dreams... they are something to be well fascinated of even if they are nothing but nonsense.
—***—This wasn't your first time experiencing weird dreams. In fact, you experience it quite often that you have gotten used to it. But what I am talking about here is not just the simple unusual kind—if that's what you're thinking. I'm talking about no-one-experiences-it-except-me kind of unusual.
Dreams are odd. It will never make any connections no matter how hard you try to tie them. It always begins in a different place. But sometimes, though, if you are lucky, two of your dreams will be connected. In other times, there is a chance that you will revisit a place that you dreamt of in the past—maybe last month, week or so. This is normal. That's how human brains work.
Although your dreams are similar to these, there are a lot of differences if you compare it. First is that you are completely aware that you are in an unconscious state. Second is you are running away from something. And third, from what you have observed in the past years, you feel that you are going to a certain place.
On a further explanation, when you sleep, you will wake up in an unknown location then you will sense that something is behind you. Of course, as what your instinct says, you will find a safe place. You cannot escape the thing easily, though. You can't even hide away from it because the location is always a narrow path with a single exit on the end.
When you reach the exit, a light will bring you back into the reality. This goes on for years now. Still, the same fear every night tacks on you. It never goes off and you despise it.
This personal phenomenon you are experiencing started when you were about eight years old.
It is still vivid until now. The memory. The dream. The first time you actually felt energy being hogged out to your body. It is still fresh in your mind.
You woke up inside a library when it first happened. Thick shelves enveloped around you. All books are the same, you noticed as you pulled out a book and returned it immediately.
Then it hit you. The hair at the back of your neck stood up. You felt being watched. You ignored it at first. However, the feeling pondered more and demanded. You felt an urge to run away, and so you did. You ran at the fastest speed an eight year old could. Your lungs burned and your feet went numb—but it didn't matter—you didn't care because your life is more worth than giving up.
Not too long, you have found a door. It's a big castle door, its doorknobs were white and the frame is gold. You quickly ran for it, tripping a step while running for safety, and pulled the door open.
A light succumb you when you entered the door. You heard the door shut with a loud Bang! You feel relieved.
But before you woke up, an image flashed before your eyes. It was too fast to catch but you swore that it was a triangle.
It was like that at first. You dreamed of it a couple of times, only the place keeps changing. When you turned twelve, this phenomenon quite took you to the next level.
Once, you found yourself looking confused in front of your parents. They are sitting beside your bed. What even made you feel more confused was the fact that you saw your mother crying while your dad had a grim expression.
Then they told you what happened. You won't wake up and stopped breathing for an hour.
They thought you were dead.
You hit the pause button on your phone. The same song had been playing for a couple hours now and it's beginning to make you sick.
As you stare out the car's window, you can't help but feel a little dozy. Your family has been traveling way too long now. Everyone is exhausted. Even your mom sleeps peacefully beside your dad.
You shifted a little. The position you've been holding for hours began to feel uncomfortable. The edges of the boxes are poking at your arm, making you slightly feel irritated.
You sighed. How long you will sit in this position is one thing that you wonder right now. Hopefully, Gravity Falls would welcome you enough sooner. You are getting tired of sitting for the whole day. Plus, the sky is getting darker every minute. The pine trees ate the sun and only its rays sticks up in the sky.
But it does not mean you are excited to get there. After all, this news about you moving is unexpected. Therefore you are not happy as this ruined all your plans prepared with your friends back home.
You just want this to end.
After the entire wait, you saw the sign that you are looking for. It passed muster beside you. Finally.
