Two years have passed since Akko was accepted into the Jedi Order. Despite her best efforts to avoid drawing attention to herself Akko has become well known to the Masters on Tython. Most of the more kind and understanding masters got along well with Akko however the stricter masters of the order dreaded having Akko in their class.
"Akko, will you please stop shuffling around and focus on meditating." Said Master Badcock
"I'm trying but I must be sitting on an antz nest because there's antz all over me." Complained Akko
Master Badcock sighed before moving Akko over to another spot using the force. Akko just so happened to be placed next to Diana, her Tutor and Rival. Akko crossed her legs like everyone else and tried to meditate.
Concentration was one of the hardest things for Akko, especially meditation. Akko did her best to clear her mind however she was too worried about the Jedi Initiate Trails coming up.
"Don't worry about your Initiate Trial, Akko." Said Diana, Akko felt a bit of comfort from Diana's words.
"Find peace in the fact that you will fail." Any comfort was gone in a matter of a few words.
"I will pass the trial." Akko argued
"Really? Recite the Jedi code." Diana challenged
Akko had to think hard about it. What was the first line? Diana would say it a lot when Akko was bothering her.
"Oh, there is no emotion, there is peace." Said Akko
"Go on." Said Diana
Akko had actually gotten the attention of Master Badcock. Normally she would shush Akko but it was important to see if she could remember the code. Akko thought hard on the next line.
Whenever Akko would get stressed out about not knowing something Ursula would say the next line to Akko.
"There is no ignorance, there is knowledge."
Whenever Akko would get passionate about something everyone would tell her.
"There is no passion, there is serenity."
Whenever Akko is learning from Master Finnelan she'd always say Akko would prove contrary to this line.
"There is no chaos, there is harmony."
There was one more line but Akko couldn't remember what it was no matter how much she tried. Akko sighed in defeat. "I don't remember the last line"
"There is no death, there is the force." Diana finished for Akko
"It's important to remember and understand the code Ms Kagari." Said Master Badcock
After class Diana began tutoring Akko.
"You're able to remember all but the last line of the Jedi code. Let's revise it before going over your techniques." Said Diana
"When our physical forms die we become one with the force. We lose our sense of self and become a part of the force's collective consciousness. However rarely there are exceptions to this." Explained Diana
"That's where we get Force Ghosts from." Said Akko
"The correct term is Force Spirits but you are correct."
"Diana, why are you helping me?" Asked Akko
"Why would you think I wouldn't help you?" Asked Diana
"You keep telling me I can't pass the trials but you still teach me. Why?" Asked Akko
Diana sighed, a part of her knew her statements and actions have been misinterpreted. Her harsh and dismissive attitude towards Akko was unfair from a certain point of view. Diana thought of a way to explain.
