"Did you hear?"
"Yh, his name is Sia."
"No way... Did you see his eyes?"
"No way."
Eve couldn't bother with the chatter of teenage girls all around her, she had more important matters on her mind. Which was obviously her 18th birthday.
The fact that her dad already gave her a locket warmed it's way to her heart but the real present was to come later on the night of her birthday.
She squealed internally not paying much of her attention to the slender, feminine arm that rested on her shoulder.
"What's the good news?"
Fay, Eve's best friend at the time asked gleefully while waiting for a response.
"You scared me!" Eve shockingly exclaimed removing Fay's hand from her in the process.
"Geez. I'm sure I deserve some kind of warning next time don't you think?"
"Hmmm" Fay shrugged paying no heed to the complaint but only eager to hear what put her bestie in such a happy mood.
"So..." She waited patiently for a response.
"What's making you so heads up in the clouds?"
Eve smirked slyly before showing off her newest prized possession.
"Here it is." Eve responded with the brightest smile she had at the moment.
"Dad gave me as an early birthday present. Pretty neat right?"
"Yh. Neat." Fay responded dryly.
"But, Eve it's just an old locket."
Running her thumb over it repeatedly, she suddenly came to the realization of the speck that strategically hid itself but she didn't care for it as much as it didn't matter to her.
Smiling down, she turned back to Fay.
"Doesn't matter Fay. It's a bit weird but I feel it was something that was actually mine and now I have it back."
She stuck her tongue out playfully by the side.
"It feels good on me. Like it's meant to be. Something like that."
She shook her head slightly in denied disbelief of what she was saying.
"But- The weird thing is- Come take a look" she gestured for Fay to draw closer as she opened the locket.
"There's this old-like, ancient picture of a girl and a boy in what seems like a forest in it." She looked to Fay in wonder.
"But yh. That's old." Fay responded in a fit of laughter but that was stifled by the cold wind blowing from, nowhere.
She hurriedly sucked in a sharp breath
Afterall, She would find out the reason eventually. Definitely before the end of the day. Or maybe in the next minute if her calculations were right.
Continuing in her state of calm, she made her way to class but was suddenly interrupted by someone's arm gently resting round her neck followed by a loud squeal which she recognized right away.
"Gee Alexa! Do you want to burst my eardrums?"
"Whatever." The very excited teenager besides her rolled her eyes before inching even closer to her and almost whispering.
"Have you heard?"
"Heard what? No. I hope it's not...."
"It just might be."
