I met up with one of my beast friends, Clawdeen Wolf, who needed a second opinion on what kind of makeup she wanted to use today. After Clawdeen made her decision, we decided to leave the bathroom. As the door opened, Draculaura and a new girl fell on the floor. "Drop dead gorgeous." Clawdeen said, looking in the mirror. "Exactly." I added. "Clawdeen! Shadence!" Draculaura gasped.

Clawdeen Wolf: A Wolf in Chic Clothing.

"Thanks." Draculaura sighed. "We almost bit the dust." "Hey, Draculaura, who's the fresh blood?" I asked. Just as Clawdeen signaled me to shut up, Draculaura began to faint. "Sorry, Drac." I apologized. "I forgot about you and bloo... Nevermind. Splash some water on your face." The new girl looked confused, not seeing a reflection of Draculaura in the mirror. "It's a vampire thing." Clawdeen explains. "This is, um?" Draculaura introduced, but never actually found out her name. "Frankie. Newbie." She replied. "The name's Shadence."

Shadence Gloom: The Freaky Fierce Singer-Songwriter of the Shadows.

"Nice to meet you, Frankie." I greeted. "You too." Frankie smiled. Her and Clawdeen began complimenting each other's shoes. "Smells like those zombies have passed on." Clawdeen joked. "We're out." "So, you guys wanna hang?" Frankie asked. "Sounds cool." I replied. "Text us." Draculaura added as we walked away with Clawdeen.

Later, Cleo de Nile, the most popular ghoul in school, was holding tryouts for the Fearleading Squad. Frankie was one of the ghouls who decided to try out. "Any experience?" Cleo asked. "Oh. Sure." Frankie replied. Although, I could easily tell she was lying. "There is only one opening on this Fearleading Squad and it's reserved for the best of the best. Is that you? Unlikely." Cleo explains. "Watch closely. We do the routine once, then you repeat. Nothing less than perfection on my squad." Ghoulia turned on the boombox as we started the routine. As Ghoulia stopped the music, the ghouls clapped. "Now, you." Cleo said as everyone but Frankie ran away from tryouts. "My turn?" Frankie asked nervously. "Okay." Ghoulia hit play on the boombox again as Frankie mimicked the routine. She was a natural. Then all of a sudden, her foot gets detached from her body and falls into Ghoulia's drink. Cleo screams bloody murder as the drink splashes onto her, causing Frankie to run out into the hall. Not to mention that Cleo's scream was powerful enough to shatter all of the school's windows.

After that fiasco with Frankie earlier, Cleo was talking about giving her another chance to join the squad. Or at least, another shot at tryouts. Clawdeen, Draculaura, and I had to break the news to Frankie. "Cleo." Clawdeen said. "Cleo wants to give you another chance!" Draculaura announced. "No!" Frankie gasped. "Don't yank my stitches!" "Believe it, ghoul." I said. "She said that at tryouts, you had mad skills and that you showed spirit." Draculaura explains. "And that..." "You've got guts." Clawdeen added. "You got another shot. You meet her tomorrow at lunch. It's like an interview. Be ready." "It would be totally cool if you made the Fearleading team." Draculaura continued. "But, you only make it if you can show you have the stuff." I interrupted. "Don't get your hopes up. Lots of hard work to look that good." "Be ready." Frankie said as we walked to class.

The next day

My ghouls and I found Frankie and decided to walk the halls with her. "Hey girl." Clawdeen greeted. "Feeling fierce?" "Charged and ready." Frankie replied. "ROTFLOL." Draculaura said. "Rolling on the floor laughing out loud?" Frankie asked. "I don't get it." Clawdeen said. "You lost me, Drac." I added. "I read it somewhere." Draculaura explains. "She's ready."

At Frankie's locker, we had to do everything we could to help her impress Cleo at the interview. "Favorite music, cool people you know." Clawdeen said. "It's okay to mention us." "And boys." Draculaura added. "Don't forget boys!" "Why can't we talk about hot ghouls for once?" I asked, while Frankie was daydreaming. "Hello? Earth to Frankie." "Are you picking up what I'm putting down?" Clawdeen asked. "My good. I'm bad." Frankie replied, still in her daydream.

At lunch, we brought Frankie to Cleo in the Creepeteria for her interview. "Frankie Stein for Cleo." I said to Ghoulia. "She was summoned. Ghoulia moaned as Frankie stepped forward. "You wanted to see me?" Frankie asked. "Let's be clear. I have exquisite taste, and in spite of your freakishly flawed performance yesterday, I saw something interesting." Cleo replied. "Typically, I only promote perfection. Let's see how you rank. Flats or heels?" "Both." Frankie replied. "Skinny or boot cut?" Cleo asked. "Jeggings." Frankie said. "Satin with corduroy?" Cleo asked. "Never!" Frankie gasped. "Recent book." Cleo wondered. "I blog." Frankie said. "Scrunchies?" Cleo asked. "Yeah, right." Frankie scoffed. "Finish the thought." Cleo said. ""I can't leave home without..." "Lip gloss." Frankie replied. "Favorite singer?" Cleo wondered. "Justin Biter, of course!" Frankie exclaimed. "In fact, my dad practically resurrected his career." "Justin rules!" Cleo gasped, before realizing how loud she was. "Uh, boyfriend?" "Boyfriend? Of course. Look, he just walked in." Frankie gulped, until she noticed Deuce Gorgon, Cleo's boyfriend. Draculaura, Clawdeen, and I gasped. "This interview is over." Cleo grunted, walking away. "Hey, Cleo." Deuce greeted. "I see you've met..." "YOUR NEW GIRLFRIEND!" Cleo screamed, storming out of the room, with Frankie running the other way.

The next day

I joined Clawdeen in the bathroom to help  Draculaura with her makeup. There are times like today where I wish she could see her reflection. "A little more to the left." Clawdeen said, walking her through. "No, too far." "Uh, well." Draculaura began. "Don't talk, you'll mess up the lips." I explained as Frankie came in. None of us would say anything. "Yeah, I know. I messed up big time. Epic." Frankie said. "I can't take it back, but I can make things right, but only with your help." "Drac, you messed up again." I sighed.

We went to talk to Cleo about Frankie. "So, yeah. There's this thing that we need to talk to you about." Clawdeen explained to Cleo, who turned to see Frankie and Deuce. "So. Not. Cool!" Cleo shouted. "Wait, Cleo! I totally lied." Frankie explains. "Deuce is not, never was, and never will be my boyfriend. No excuse. I just wanted you to like me." "Yeah, like that would happen." Cleo sighed. "Really?" Deuce nodded, bringing her close to him. "Frankie, you are not pardoned." Cleo said. "What you did..." "I know, I royally hurt your feelings, which is why I want to make it up to you." Frankie explains. "I know that you're the biggest Justin Biter fan, so..." We showed Cleo to a private Justin concert in the Auditorium. "So, remember when I told you my dad resurrected Justin Biter? Well, that was about the only thing that was true. He owed me a favor."

And so, all of us were looking stylish for this dance party. Cleo put Frankie on the Fearleading Squad, and we're all getting along. But this is only the beginning of our freaky adventures.
