In the dark, we see less, we feel more.
FEAR IS A DEVIOUS SNAKE winding around your courage.
It's a raging storm disrupting all peace.
It's a swirling vortex that devours hope.
Fear is a soundless scream, a cold sweat running down your spine.
Fear controls you, it eats you up.
Fear is dark, tall, and thin, with empty eyes and a vicious smile. Its face is a cruel mask that freezes your blood.
Fear is everywhere, fear is here.

The pounding of her feet on the pavement echoed in her ears. Beads of cold sweat rolled down her forehead and dripped from her chin. Her lungs strained, small hiccups escaping her with each breath. The only thing holding her together was the thought of home. They would be worried by now, and she had to get back. Mum never liked it when she was gone for too long. The thought gave her the strength to keep moving, to keep running, no matter how dark and endless the night seemed.
Cold air bit into her lungs as her breath came in short, ragged gasps. Her calves burned with each step, her exhalations forming visible clouds in the night air. She ran through dark, empty streets that were usually filled with people and noise. Her clothes, soaked and torn, clung to her small frame. She had lost her shoes, and now she was all alone, with nowhere to go.
Her heart pounded against her ribcage, a thunderous beat reverberating through her body, matching the rhythm of her escalating panic. She stopped at the corner of a street, hands on her knees, desperately trying to catch her breath. She didn't know where she was; all she knew was that she had to get away. Far from here, where they wouldn't find her.
She started running again.
The soles of her feet were damaged, and every step hitting the ground was painful, yet she didn't give up.
If they found her, God knows what they would do to her. She was terrified. If only she had stayed at home.
The wind whipped her wet hair back from her face, the rain blinded her, but she saw him.
Enigmatic.
Unpredictable.
Dangerous.
She couldn't tear her eyes away from the sight in front of her. Her limbs went numb.
