Sunday's are one of my favorite days of the week. I went downstairs around noon to find my mom in the kitchen, kissing her on the cheek.

"How kind of you to grace us with your presence." She laughed as she was slicing cucumbers. "Want brunch?"

I ate and talked to my mom, Alex, Luke before running upstairs to get ready for the gym. I hit the gym for a lift and grabbed a post workout snack. I raced home to jump in the shower because I have company coming over: Elena. She was coming over to help with Calc homework, and I had never been more excited to do math in my entire life. I was pulling my sweatshirt over my head when I heard my name yelled up the stairs.

"Jack! You've got a visitor! By some miracle!" Luke shrieked, and I opened my bedroom door to hear the ongoing conversation.

"So Elena just one more time. I wanna make sure I understand. You're here, in my house, to see my son Jack?" My dad inquired, his voice incredulous.

"Yes, Jim. She said that already!" My mom chided him.

"I'm just confused because... have you met our son?" He half laughed to my mom.

"Yes, I have." Mom rolled her eyes.

"I'm here to help him figure out calculus." Elena smiled.

"See that makes more sense." Dad said as I raced down the stairs.

"Thanks Dad, we're going upstairs now." I grabbed onto Elena's hand, guiding her up the stairs.

"That door better stay open three inches!" Luke yelled up after us, causing me to flip him off.

"Jack! Be kind!" Mom scolded as Elena stifled a laugh. We entered my room and I closed the door, taking an exhale.

"Hi. Sorry about the interrogation?" I said, shoving my hands in my sweatpants pocket.

"It's totally okay, I love your family." She laughed, plopping down on my bed.

"How was the drive?" I asked her, knowing once again her hatred for driving. "I wasn't even thinking about it, I should've picked you up."

"It was fine, you know, I made it in one piece so I guess we can call it a success?" She smiled and tucked her knees up to her chest.

"I can always be your Uber. I'll even give you a discount." I winked making her laugh.

"I'll take you up on that." She nodded, her smile growing in size and making my heart damn near explode. "So, limits?"

"Limits." I saluted her as she grabbed her notebooks out of her backpack and I reached over to grab my own.

We spent the next two hours working on Calculus, and I've never understood math better than this in my entire life. She was looking over my last practice exam attempt, chewing down on her lip slightly as she examined my work. Elena Cameron looks so damn hot when she's focused. I couldn't take my eyes off of her and she finally looked up at me.

"A Plus work Hughesy. Look at you, Mr. Mathematician." She teased, giving me a nudge and holding her hand up for a high five.

"That's all you. You're like, a genius. I keep saying that but Elena, you're a genius." I gushed over her, causing her cheeks to flush a bright red.

"You're too nice to me. I can't take it!" She turned her face away from me, dipping her chin down to try to hide her blush. I reached over and grabbed her chin to turn her back to me.

"Stop being so humble Lains. You're fucking amazing." I said, staring deep into those chocolate brown eyes that I love so much.

"Okay." She murmured, my thumb just briefly grazing her lip before the door swung open. We basically flew apart on the bed as my mom stood in the doorway.
