Q1.How did you come up with the title for your books?
A1. I just searched some aesthetic words with their meanings and found Saudade which means a feeling of longing, melancholy or nostalgia and felt it would fit the storyline well.
Q2.Would you and your main character get along?
A2. I feel like Chaeyoung and I are very similar in personalities, so yes, we would.
Q3.What is your writing process like? Are you more of a plotter or a pantser?
A3. I just sit and write whatever is coming in my mind. But sometimes I am planning some plots in my head while doing some of the Random things.
Q4.What risks have you taken with your writing that have paid off?
A4. I don't really know about the risks, because I haven't really taken any. But yeah, I think publishing my first book was the biggest risk I took till now.
Q5.Do you play music while you write — and, if so, what's your favorite?
A5.Yes, I do. I have many playlists and it actually depends on what mood I am in but I usually listen to golden hour by JVKE because it just gives me the main character feeling.
Q6.If your book were made into a movie, which actors would play your characters?
A6.My book was already based on a netflix series so obviously for Suhyeok it would be Park Solomon. For Chaeyoung I feel like Kim Sejeong would be nice.
Q7.Does writing energize or exhaust you? Or both?
A7.It actually feels nice when I'm writing but not when I'm already exhausted.
Q8. How do you develop your plot and characters?
A8.I usually base my characters off real people in my life, be it my best friends or my boyfriend or my parents. And for the plot, it just keeps coming to my mind.
Q9.How do you process and deal with negative book reviews?
A9. I don't really get negative book reviews but if I ever get one, I'm gonna try and ignore it because people have their opinions and you can't change it.
Q10.What advice would you give to a writer working on their first book?
A10. Just go for it and have patience. It'll get the recognition it deserves.
