In the Sky, Underground

Chapter 1

Sitting in my room, I waited patiently for the bathroom door to open, for Winter to come out and show me their new patrol outfit. I swung my legs over the side of my bed, watching out the window. We were in the central city, where all the seasons met. I could see the whole city! And it was gorgeous, four lands combining into one city! 

Suddenly the door to the bathroom opened and my love, my Winter came out, with their hair braided in long black braids, always in their face, their skin, a dark with beautiful white splotches painting their body. They wore tight pants that only went down to above their ankles, with a skirt that had a slit that reached their mid thigh, and a crop top with a blue outlined snowflake in the center of it. Their white angelic wings were folded on their back, feathers perfectly preened. I smiled as their mismatched eyes shone back at me. 

"Ah! Winter! I love it!"

"I do too! I'm so very excited,"

Their voice was as soft as ever, but filled with glee. 

Soon we were headed to the window, opening it and standing on the ledge, I smiled as the pleasant breeze brushed past. I look to Winter,

"Are you ready, my love?"

"As ever, Ant,"

And then with a falling start, we flew. 

This was my first time on patrol with Winter and this was their first patrol ever.

About an hour and a half into patrols, winter was half dozing off and I was getting bored. That was until we'd reached the edge of the city, right on the borders of Cloud City, Spring Forest, and Summer Falls was a crevice. There was nothing truly going on, so without a second thought I headed into a nosedive, Winter quickly followed once they realized I was leaving them behind. 

"Woah! Ant, we shouldn't be down here!"

"And why not? Were just patrolling~"

Winter shot me a glare as we landed on the dry, dead earth. I started walking, knowing we'd be able to fly out anyway, I'd been down here a million times. Winter played with one of their long braids and watched around warily, while I walked as casually as I could. Being near Summer Falls made me sweat a bit, considering I'm from Autumn Woods and Winter was, well, from Winter Creek. 

As we walked it only got darker and darker, but the ground was even, until I saw something I'd never seen before,

"What is that?"

Winter said before me,

"A building obviously… a very, very large, concrete building…"

"I think we should head back, get the others, tell them-"

A screech broke out through the air, coming from within. It sounded like someone was in pain,

"No way! We need to help whoever's in there!"

I broke out in a dead sprint towards the building, in a gust of leafy wind, a sword appeared in my hands and I jumped at the wall, slashing in an x motion, before jumping back, the area I'd x-ed out turned to leaves and an opening was left in its wake,
