After Maze fell asleep in Ant's arms, Mrs. Lydia rebandaged his lips and then sent us on our way with everything we'd need. We made our way back to Ant's room, and Maze slept the whole way, unmoving, it was scary how limp he was. When we got back to the room Ant laid him down, he was so very pliable, like a rag doll, like he was just a toy.
Ant noticed it too, he kept a close eye on him.

"I think we should teach him sign language.."

"I agree,"
I said, gently.

"He understands us and he knows how to speak.. sign language is just the better option so he isn't constanly hurting himself.  We need to learn it too, so we can understand him."

"I agree, I think he'd appreciate it."

We both watched over Maze, making sure he was comfortable and alright. Soon night fell over the City and I had to head back to my room.

"I'll see you later, I love you,"

"I love you too."

We shared a gentle kiss and I left slowly.

...

The next day I woke up in my cold room, frost growing on my skin, like usual. I slowly got up and hummed gently, looking around. I waved my hand and the frost disappeared from the windows and from my skin. I slowly stood and started to get ready for the day, I opened the message from Jay, on my desk. My tasks for today was to escort Maze to the interrogation room and then go out for a patrol. I then opened a second message from my mother. Shit.
My whole family were coming into town and they wanted to meet Ant.

"Okay, okay, Winter don't panic, they'll love him! I'm sure of it."

I shook out my hands and huffed.

"Okay, get it together Winter,"

I slapped my face gently with both hands. I then went to the next message which of course was a good morning message from Ant, apparently he'd been up since the buttcrack of dawn. I smiled gently and relaxed, he's so silly.
I then headed out of my room and headed to Ant's room to pick up Maze. I knocked gently and slowly opened the door,

"Hey, Ant, Maaaze- what the fuck,"

Ant was hanging from the ceiling by his leg from a vine and Maze was frantically trying to get him down, looking very apologetic. Ant was laughing and looked very happy, telling Maze it was okay. I came over and summoned my staff, swiping it across the vine and cutting him down, he plopped onto the ground with an "oof."
I then looked to Maze with a questioning look,

"Hey, it's okay, Winter, I spooked him, it was an accident!"

I put my staff away and looked over towards Ant.

"You sure?"

"Yes, I'm positive."

He smiled and I nodded,

"Anyway, I have to take Maze to Jay and Blue,"

"Ah, right, I have to check my messages and I'll meet you down there,"
