You and your friends had decided to go on vacation in Maranello after your messy break up with your ex. It was a last minute decision and because of that you didn't realize it was a Grand Prix weekend. The streets were buzzing and full...you were getting tired of whole commotion.Luckily you're friend had booked a spa so that you can relax.
"Are you ready to go?" asked Jessica
You were finishing tying up your shoes when she came through your hotel room's door.
"Yeah, just give me a second", you said.
You finished tying up your shoelaces and took your purse off the couch.
"Let's go Jess, I'm ready", you said as Jessica scrolled through her phone whilst sitting on the couch.
The two of you set off and walked to the elevator. Just as you walked in the another man came running in before the elevator doors closed. He was clad in a bright red polo shirt and a pair of dark jeans with pumas. He bend over as he tried to catch his breath.
"Hello, I'm sorry for just barging in. I have to get to work and I'm already running late". The man said, his alluring Spanish accent very evident.
"No, it's fine, I guess". Jess said in a questioning tone.
The elevator finally stopped at the hotel lobby after the long awkward silence - filled elevator ride. As you and Jess stepped off the elevator the screams of f1 fans and the flashes of cameras were heard out front. The look of serenti that was once plastered on your face was now swapped for one filled with annoyance. You never really one for attention and crowded areas. So it was safe to say, the crowd out front slightly angered you. Though, you couldn't help but wonder who the f1 drivers are that have taken a temporary residence in the hotel.
You and Jessica finally got through the hoard of people after a very difficult struggle. You hauled a cab to take you to your spa appointment. The traffic was hectic, streets were filled with pedestrians and the place was way too loud for your liking.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Jess asked as she saw the annoyed expression on your face.
"Nothing, I just don't like crowded places. You know that. I'm starting to think coming here was a mistake" you snapped at her.
"Geez, sorry for asking I guess." She said annoyed "And we came here cause you wanted to get over you shitty ex, and me being the supportive friend that I am, come along with you!"
"Well I never asked you to come with me did I now?" You yelled rhetorically.
"Ya know what (y/n), let's just do this spa day and I'll leave you alone, since it's obvious that you don't want me here." Jess said.
You felt bad after seeing the hurt expression on her face, but your pride got the best of you and you bit your tongue instead of apologizing.
................................................
The spa day was filled with awkwardness, but neither parties had the guts to apologize. After they were finished, Jessica took a cab separately whilst (y/n) had opted for taking a walk along the beautiful beaches of Maranello. She spent the rest of the day at the beach reflecting on the past few months. Her relationship with her ex had ended, she was pushing everyone around her away, including her best friend.
As dawn came upon the city in Spain (y/n) slowly started strolling back to the hotel. With the approach of the fro t fo the hotel, a crowd of people could be seen. Not as large as the one this morning, but a crowd nonetheless - and this didn't help improve her mood. She was tired and drained.
After pushing through the people, she finally got to the doors of the elevator. She was annoyed now more than ever.
"Hold it please", she heard someone yell.
(Y/n) held the door as the stranger ran fro the elevator. She looked up at the person just to be met with the same man with the Spanish accent from this morning. If she wasn't so annoyed she'd actually be appreciating his devilishly handsome features.
"Hi, you're the girl from this morning. I never got to get your name. I'm Carlos by the way" the man said in a chirpy tone.
She looked at him with the same annoyed expression she has had all day, "I'm (y/n)".
Carlos, clearly noticing the annoyed expression on the women's face turned his body to her and asked with his voice full of concern, "what's wrong".
"Nothing" (y/n) quipped.
"No, don't lie", Carlos said, his Spanish accent painfully evident.
"Why would I tell my problems to a random stranger?" (Y/n) questioned.
"Well think about it this way, if you tell you're problems to a random stranger, at least there's a very low chance of seeing them again". Carlos replied.
(Y/n) looked at Carlos skeptically and sighed before she started speaking.
"Well I decided to come here cause my boyfriend, well ex boyfriend broke up with me and my very supportive best friend decided to come with me. Since it was spontaneous we didn't realize that it was a Grand Prix weekend and I hate people. So all these people put me in a bad mood and I may or may not have said some very bad things to the only person that has been there for me through thick and thin. And now I'm afraid that I'm going to lose her..."
(Y/n)'s words were interrupted as she was suddenly engulfed in a hug. A sob wrecked her body as she heard Carlos telling her it was okay. It never even registered that she was crying until Carlos had pulled her into a very much needed hug. She slowly started pulling away as she realized that she was crying into a person's shoulder who she just met.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make your shirt wet".
"It's okay. Plus it was my decision to hug you", he reassured her.
Before he could say anything else, the elevator dinged and (y/n) started walking out. Just as the elevator was about to close Carlos called after her.
"Wait, will I see you again?"
She turned to him, a light smile grazing her features.
"Well, you said it yourself, there's a very little chance of seeing a random stranger who you told you're problems to again."
"But, there's also a chance that you might see them again...for example when they ask you out." Carlos replied
"And what if I say no?" (y/n) questioned jokingly.
"Well then you'll be breaking a random stranger's heart and we don't want that, do we now?" Carlos answered.
"So what? Is the random stranger is asking me out on a date now?"
"Well it doesn't have to be a date. It could just be as friends...or strangers. Plus you need some cheering up and Maranello is a beautiful place. It's not a place you should regret coming to." Carlos answered.
"Okay, then I accept."
Carlos smiled at her and said, "okay, then I'll meet you in the lobby tomorrow morning, mi amor."
