chapter 2 - cry, message, leave

- time skip to arriving at school on the first day back from break -

gabriella's pov:

we pulled up to the east side of my school. i opened the car door and began to step out.

"gab," my mom causes me to pause and look back at her. 

"you have my full attention. what is it?" 

she hesitates and looks out the driver side window, then back at me. i could tell that she wanted to say something but couldn't.

"just... have a nice day!" 

"uhh thanks." i paused for a few seconds staring at the ground.

 "okay bye mom, love you!" i closed the door and sped into the building, throwing my backpack onto my back.

first hour wasn't going to be any good, so i walked into the girl's restroom and went into the big stall the end of the room. i ran my back against the wall sitting on the ground, knees almost touching my chin. first hour usually consisted of me and lilli giggling and watching movies secretly while mr. w spoke about his home life instead of biology. a tear broke out from my glossy eyes. 

i can't believe i'm crying over this.

i opened my phone and went straight to message my mom.

Go to the office and tell them you have an appointment. I'm on my way.

i shut my phone and rushed to the office. i didn't want a hall monitor to catch me quote on quote, sneaking to do drugs, or something. i told the lady at the front desk that i had a dentist appointment and she had me sit and wait for my mom. 

"i'm here let's go," my mom says coming into the office and having me hurry to leave. "bye bye~!"

we leave and once we step outside the school doors i cry into my mother's arms. she knew something was wrong and i could tell.
