*15 years back*
"I don't have time for boys!"
Priti was like this, obvious with words resolute, and... Of course, The clincher of the Arts School of Chandigarh.
Even if it was just one year since she ended up here where she got into after so much hustle and bustle in her house where her father stood ready to marry her away at such a younger age of 18 and get free from his foremost fatherly duty and in opposition, her mother who was a well-respected teacher of language, had vowed to get her daughter to the highest education status that she desires...
That's why Priti was very much attached to her mother's personality-simple and resolute and thus choose to be a teacher after passing 12th grade with the highest marks of 97 percentile, pinnacling not only the school, and district board but also the state board-
But...
One and a half decades before,
Marriage was considered the ultimate jewel for a girl and being the eldest and only child of her parents, her father saw her as the foremost commitment of sin, without a valid hire( specifically so-called 'son') in the name of the Junjeval family.
"I am not saying to never tie the knot! She will marry one day but not today, not till she becomes something!" Her mother stood against her irate husband who would often beat her for no reason.
"She will surely become something-talk of town and the reason for cutting off my nose in the society! " her father cried sitting on a wooden chair wearing a shirt and a loosely fitted pajama of the very distasted match
But her mother stood rooted!
"Either nose is necessary but for the nose, you won't slaughter your daughter! Would you?! "
Still, after so many consecutive fights and some hand lifts, prints on the skin-her mother's deep austerity came true--
"Just 3 years in the same city, morning 9 to afternoon 2 that's all! You have to help your mother through chores every day and study must not interrupt a thing, after the third year's final examination, you will marry a man of my choice!"
No one knew how this occult seem to occur! Was it his inner soul? Or just from some literate person's say?! Or he developed new thinking?!
May it be anything but Priti was bound by a cruel three-year pact!
Still, she enjoys living this life without any specific attention to anyone, That was her determination!
But
One thing she has was absolute 'no deal with boys! '
I'm not talking about romantic, it was never in her frame but also about friendship, it sounds like a heinous crime to commit!
Why?
Well, it's all just what she has got by heart from the society she has born in and by the people, she was born to and was always taught to recite the same.
Head down and obey!
Yet she was a born exception to a living revolutionary!
"Boys are vicious predators!" she'd say with grunge.
But easily seduced lasses, like Tanu was lifted--
"How do you know?! "
"Experience! "
Tanu rolled her eyes, cause she knew Priti without any experience was very determined on the limited image of boys-or more specifically 'her father's sketch'-cruel and hardcore, and then she stick her eyes to the boy who stood at a distance talking to many cherished boys-
"B-But look he is so handsome..."
In controversy, nothing worked on Priti-
She is all crawled into her book without darting at her friend Tanu's words, Rather she enjoys the terms of zoology in utter interest plus it's just one year until the end of the pact. So it made Priti more conscious and ignored to wards less important things.
Making Tanu's red with anger-
"You are so coarse!"
"What?! If I say something you will become red-yellow?!"
"Is that so?! I won't get red or yellow! Anyways I never do! "
Priti filled her lungs with fresh oxygen and then started to apply her philosophy mode in a world where still having a button mobile was considered a luxury in the country.
"Looks are just to attract the foolish nectar-loving bees--As you will get closer to him you will sooner know it was all a mirage and still you were too late to escape any of that---! "
Abruptly, once in her whole lifetime, a boy has dared to walk up to her table with A very confusing innocence,
"Excuse me, are you Priti?!
