The sun rose above the horizon in the morning. The rising sun cast a rosy hue across the morning sky. It was seven in the morning.
Today is Sunday!
The continuous ringing of the cell phone irritated Shamini's slumber. She reached out her phone with her eyes closed. On opening her one eye she switched off the alarm and was back to sleep.
She frowned in her sleeping form with the eyes closed. Her face tightened and the frown went deeper. Opening her eyes abruptly she flipped her phone lightening the screen.
Holly, shit!
She abruptly sat on the chair bracing herself while staring at the phone in horror. She had slept late at night worrying about her friend Naira. Her eyes were still heavy but today's remainder made her eyes go widen when she looked at her friend sleeping form.
"NAIRA" she budge.
"Naira" she tried waking her, and found herself helpless
"She and her beauty sleep. Is sleep more important than today's meeting" "this girl " she cursed her stars. It's been always difficult for Shamini to deal with Naira's sleepy tantrums. She pulled her , pushed her, rolled her on bed , she did everything in order to wake her up.
She was exhausted.
"Naira , I'm telling you the last time get up or I will throw bucket of water. I won't care if my mattress goes wet and i need to sleep on floor. You just get up orelse you would be late for civil Beauro"
She yelled on top of her lungs. Naira was sleeping carefree until the latter part reached her heart n mind.
She propped herself and looked at her friend in dizzy. "Is today Sunday" she asked in sleepy voice while checking the time.
Naira's eyes widened in horror .
"You are good for nothing Shamini. Why didn't you wake me up. It's already eight and I need to reach by nine. No, no, no, I can't miss the chance" Naira scolded Shamini while pacing from one end to another collecting her things and ran straight to bathroom cursing Shamini good for nothing all the time.
Shamini reaction was no difference , her jaw was hunging down to floor. Looking at her friends retreating fugure in disbelief she murmured to herself," wasn't I the one who was doing everything to wake her up".
...........
"Naira why are you so nervous" Shamini asked keeping her palm onto her's.
"Am I?" Naira touched her face examining herself.
"Stop making me unnecessarily nervous Shamini" she denied and looked out of the window.
After few minutes cab halted at its destination.
"Miss, you are here" the driver said gaining attention of both the girls.
Naira looked outside and found the well built building. The area surrounded this building is highly neat n clean unlike the other area of the city where the atmosphere is emerged into wave of pollutants. Shamini paid and asked Naira to get off.
She didn't knew why Naira was behaving absent mindely. She has never found her this absence.
Maybe she's nervous. Who ever thought we would be here at this age claiming for divorce.
She sighed and looked at Niara who was staring at the building with an unknown emotion held into her eyes.
Carrying documents of her marriage which has happened to be three years back, her heart thumped with the multiple thoughts.
