Emily and her friends were in the kitchen helping to make lunch.

Jessie was helping to cook, Sara was preparing things along with the other children, and Emily was sweeping up and making sure nothing was dirty in the kitchen.

Emily: Huff... I think that was it.

Jessie: It's almost lunch, I hope you can still hold on.

Emily: *sighs hungry* I believe so...

Jessie: How come you're so hungry?

Emily: Well...I was like this for two years.

Jessie: Oh right, sorry to ask.

Sara: Girls, the table is ready.

Jessie: Great, I just got done.

Emily: Finally...

After having lunch, Emily goes to her room and sits on her bed, then she takes out her Ballora plushy and stares at it for a while, remembering the moments she had with Ballora and her friends.

And suddenly Jessie and Sara walk in.

Jessie: Emily?

Emily: Huh!? Oh girls. *quickly hides the plushy*

Sara: Hey are you okay?

Emily: Yeah, I'm fine.

Jessie: What was that thing you had?

Emily: Well... *shows them the plushy*

Jessie: *gasps in surprise* Do you have a Ballora plushy!?

Emily: *is surprised* Wait... do you know who it is?

Sara: Yes, once Jessie and I went on a field trip to that restaurant.

Emily: Wow.

Jessie: That's right, first we went to play the arcade, then to eat pizza, and finally, we saw the show of Freddy and his friends.

Jessie: By coincidence, your favorite character is Ballora?

Emily: Yes, that's right.

Sara: Mine is Freddy Fazbear, despite the fact that some believe him somewhat "boring", I personally like the way he is, his singing, his cheerful attitude, I loved everything about him.

Emily: (Was Freddy cheerful? Maybe it was before he was possessed)

(But it's nice to know what Freddy was like)

Later at recess, the girls were chatting until... Emily sees a guy sitting on a bench, alone.

That boy had a gray blue shirt, jean shorts, and sandals, his hair was brown and part of it covered his right eye.

From the expression on his face he seems to be someone... unhappy or "emo" or serious.

Emily: Hey... uhh... who's that from there?

Jessie: Oh... that's Cody.

Sara: He's been through a lot since last year.

Nobody knows what happened to him.

Jessie: The only way is to ask him...

Emily was very interested in Cody, maybe she could help him.

Emily: Maybe... I could help you.

Sarah: Are you sure?

Jessie: I think it's going to be impossible.

No offense, but if he doesn't answer you, you'll see that we told you.

Emily: Well...

Emily decides to go to the boy, while she passes the other children who were having fun, she felt as if her surroundings were getting closer and closer.

When she reaches for the boy, Emily asks carefully.

Emily: Umm... h-hi...

*Cody turns to Emily but doesn't say anything*

Emily: You must be Cody, right? They told me a little about you.

Cody: ...

Cody still doesn't say anything.

Emily: Umm... do you mind if I sit here?

Cody doesn't say anything again but nods, so Emily sits down but keeps her distance so as not to disturb him.

[3 minutes of silence pass]

*Emily sighs and Cody turns to Emily again*

Cody: Hmm?

Emily: Look... I really, really, want to know about you, about your past.

*Cody is silent for a moment and looks away*

Cody: I don't want to talk about it...

Emily: I know you don't want to talk about it, but please, I want to know.

*Cody takes a breath and lets it out*

Cody: Well, you see, a year ago... my father had become an alcoholic ever since my mother died.

And because of that... he started abusing me, slapping me, hitting me, and saying nasty things to me, I couldn't take it anymore, so I ran away from home, having to leave everything behind.

Until one day they found me and brought me here.

Emily: Oh gosh... I'm so sorry.

Cody: It's not your fault, nor mine...

Emily: I wish you had a better life like me...

Cody: Huh...?

Emily: My parents loved me very much and so did I, they took good care of me, I played with my dad, I accompanied my mom, even on my birthday they took me to a popular restaurant.

But one night there was a fire in my house, *she starts to wrinkle her skirt with her hands* my parents were trapped, I tried to save them, but they told me to save myself.

*sobs* I was alone for 2 years, with no friends and no family and very hungry, and then they brought me here.

Cody: For 2 years you were alone? gosh...

Emily: That's how it was.

Cody: I don't know which of us had the worst...

Emily: I think both. And tell me, do you have friends?

Cody: I used to... but... they left me.

Emily: Why was it?

Cody: I didn't know why, but later I found out that it was because they changed me for another boy, he was better than me.

Emily: I'm so sorry about that.

Have you tried to make friends again? I mean, here?

Cody: I was kind of scared to do it, because I was shy before.

Emily: Hey, it's okay to be a little shy at first, it's a matter of time, if you want... I can be your friend 😄

Cody was quiet as he stared at Emily smiling. So he accepts, but not emotionally.

Cody: That... I would like.

Emily: I'm glad about that.

The days passed and Cody and Emily got closer and closer, they had become best friends.
