Crush syndrome.

After that entire sleeping incident, I couldn't help but wonder why I want him more. It's an obvious phycological reaction: you want what you can't have. Now that I know he wouldn't sleep with me, I have an urge to change his mind.

What he said really stuck with me, I was his best assistant and he didn't wanna lose me. Great, now I'd have to deal with this thing called a crush. I hated it, but it was exciting all at the same time.

Calm down, he doesn't know. He'll never know, he won't suspect anything as long as you don't act weird. The reason I felt like this was because I've never seen him so vulnerable as I did last night.

I opened my closet to look for something to wear, I needed to clear my head and go to the bookstore. It's been a while since I even felt a new book.

My eyes roamed passed the clothes, then I saw Elon's blazer. It made my entire closet smell like his musk (no pun intended)

I removed his jacket, a feeling crept inside. I don't know what it was and I don't know why I was feeling it. I held onto his blazer and the butterflies came back again. We were close yet he never hugged me, we were close yet he never did anything unprofessional. Last night was the only time I saw him like that, so sad, so truly alone.

He didn't want me to go, and now, I couldn't let him go.

But, it was clear. I needed to make this feeling stop before it got worst. A day off couldn't come at a better time. I could go to the park, I could catch up with friends. I haven't been online in months. Only on calls with my boss and other executives for admin work.

I sat myself down with crossed legs, placing his blazer in my lap.

I went online and there were messages from a few months ago. There were messages from groups I forgot existed.

Some saying:

Anyone heard from Melody?

Nope, dude I thought you knew...

What?

She's dead bro, she's working for Elon Musk so she's basically dead.

You idiot, she can see this shit.

No she won't, she's too busy working for Mr. Hotshot CEO.

I rolled my eyes, now I remember...my friends were all idiots. I had my suspicions that they were jealous and I was right. I just forgot why I stayed offline.

After a well deserved shower and a quick dress up, I took a walk to a bookstore I grew to love. It had all the books you could ask for. It was different from anything you'd ever see, there were people there, normal people that came there everyday, most were regulars and I even made a few friends. You would see people sitting and enjoying there book over a hot cup of coffee.

It was heaven in my eyes.

"Melody, long time", said Dennis, one of the book clerks.

"Dennis, hey", I said, smiling. I came in for a hug and he accepted it gladly.

"Why are you here? the sun is out and it's Monday", he said, jokingly.

He knows how busy I am, he once asked me if I wanted to go for coffee but I couldn't because of how busy I was. He knew I worked for Elon Musk, he was shocked since he was a fan.

"I'm not a vampire, Dennis. But yeah, he was feeling a bit magnanimous and gave me a day off", I explained, leaving the sleeping part out.

"Or it's just a public holiday and he's being nice?" He said, stacking away some books.

"Hey, why don't we do that coffee thing? Since you're free", he asked, giving a hopeful smile.

This crush situation made this whole encounter so difficult, Elon was on my mind since last night. I can't stop thinking about him.

Usually when a cute, well educated man asks me out I'd say yes, but if I do I'd just be ingenious.

"Yes", wow, great.

We were outside a coffee shop, I was actually enjoying the sun after so long of always being inside. It felt nice. Dennis already ordered our meal.

As we were waiting, Dennis sprang up and smiled excitedly. What the heck was going on? I turned around and wow, just great. It was Elon stepping out of a limo.

Just when I thought I could get a break from his pretty face, just when I thought I could escape for a while. I was wrong.

"Yay", I mumbled sarcastically.

"Hey, you know him, could you introduce me? Please!" He yelled, everyone was looking at us, this man was causing a scene. So I said yes just to shut him up.

I walked up to Elon, Dennis tagging along like a school boy. Elon noticed me immediately, smiling politely as he looked me up and down, checking me out. He looked away quickly when he saw that I noticed.

"Elon, this is Dennis. He's a bit of a fan", I said with no emotion. He could tell I didn't wanna be here so he kept the conversation short and sweet.

They snapped a picture and he signed something of his, he was so ecstatic he was jumping up and down.

"Nice to meet you sir".

"You too", he replied, winking in my direction.

For fucks sake, my stomach felt like a rollercoaster just crashed.

"So cool", said Dennis. We made our way back to the table.

"What is?" I asked.

"You get to call him Elon", he said, looking at the picture with him and Elon.

He was in complete awe for this man and the sad thing was...so was I.
