The women would not yield. They remained poised with their weapons aimed at the intruder. Namor looked around, unfazed.

"I know it's here," he said. "And I'll find it even if I have to raze this country to the ground."

"Try it," Shuri spoke through clenched teeth.

Namor's eyes glinted with the prospect of the challenge. Rhiannon's stomach twisted and burned and her heart beat slowed, but pounded in her chest. She could feel the darkness in him and she scolded herself for not staying at home where it was safe. She was afraid. Not of him, but for him and everyone else if he didn't leave soon.

She grunted, grinding her teeth to steady herself. Shuri glanced at her, failing to hide her concern.

"It's alright, sis." Shuri turned back to Namor. "He'll be gone soon."

For a moment, Namor stared at Rhiannon, studying her as if he sensed something. He took a step closer, causing Shuri to leap in front of her with the vibranium spear pointed at his throat.

"I can assure you, nothing you seek is in our possession. And even if it was, we would never give it to you," Shuri said.

"I can't be stopped."

"Everyone can be stopped."

Namor touched the tip of the spear and smiled. "At the beginning, I said I was not an enemy. Do not make me one now, princess."

Queen Ramonda calmly walked over and stood between Shuri and Namor. Shuri lowered her spear. Namor's smile disappeared as he stared into the eyes of the fearless monarch.

"What is it you seek?" she said, calmly.

"A weapon that can be used as a defense system for my people."

"What's happening to your people?"

"Intruders seek that which we have in abundance. The thing that helps my nation thrive. If found, they would violently remove it. And destroy us all."

"How do you know this?"

Namor smirked. "Hasn't even your history taught you the nature of those who seek, no matter the cost, what doesn't belong to them?"

Rhiannon clenched her hands into fists, fighting the transformation that begged to take place. She knew if his anger and darkness fed her any more, she wouldn't be able to push the change back into the recesses of her being. She would become the thing that devoured all things. Shuri grabbed her hand for strength and Rhiannon looked into the eyes of her friend. This calmed her a bit and she relaxed, inhaling deeply.

"Mother." Shuri said softly, reminding the queen of their need to hurry to protect Rhiannon.

"Give us time to locate this thing you seek. If we are able to locate it or find more information that leads you to it, we will inform you."

"Negotiations?" Namor laughed. He spoke to the queen, but stared at Rhiannon. She could see in his eyes, he knew something was off. "How much time do you want?"

"How do we reach you?" The queen avoided the question.

He leaned over, his mouth directly near the queen's ear. "I know how to reach you."

Just as quickly as he appeared, he was gone back into the depths of the water.
