"We have a new student," said the teacher. The class started whispering "huh a new student in the middle of the school year".

The teacher asked him to introduce himself to the class. His name was "Luke". He looked like a normal boy and he was quite tall. The teacher pointed at an empty seat and asked him to sit there. He nodded and slowly walked towards the seat.

I was sitting next to a friend and he was just one seat before us. He had curly brown hair to be honest I found him quite handsome but it seemed like he wasn't popular. He sat alone for the whole day and the day after. He talked to nobody and nobody talked to him either. I wondered why.

On the third day he was still alone, some girls talked to him but he seemed to ignore it. The girls in my class were really pretty.. at least prettier than me. I knew from the beginning that he would eventually get popular at least with the girls. But I never thought that he would ignore them but it was none of my business.

My friend was sick that day and we had to work in pairs for an exercise. Everybody had a partner except me. I looked around and noticed that Luke als didn't have a partner yet. The teacher said that we had to work together because we had to work in pairs. He sighed and sat next to me.

The teacher explained the assignment to the class. I tried to focus on the teacher but I felt him staring at me. I looked at him and he was indeed staring at me. I quickly turned around and looked at the teacher again. He didn't stop staring. Eventually I looked back at him again "why are you staring at me" I asked him. He sighed "none of your business". I looked at him confused and I was kind of annoyed.

He didn't quit staring after that so I decided to stare right into his eyes just like he did. That was a dumb thing to do, why did I do that I turn red easily. I felt my face turning more red every second. He didn't stop staring at me. I didn't want to quit staring at him even though my face was all red. If I turn around I lose that's just how it is it feels like a staring contest to me.

His face looked totally relaxed while we were staring at each other. I looked closely at his face and I saw the little freckles on his face. His face was really beautiful.

We were staring at each other for almost 2 minutes but it felt like 10. The whole time he showed no emotions he was just staring but then he suddenly smiled. He started laughing. I was confused. Why was he laughing? "Your face is all red" he didn't stop laughing. His laugh was really pretty. I quickly turned my face away and I tried to cover most of my face with my hands.

"Does everybody know what to do now?" the teacher asked while looking directly at me and Luke. Luke nodded "do you know what to do?" She asked me. I had no idea what we had to do because I couldn't concentrate because of Luke, but I decided to still nod. "Okay then start with the assignment" she said to the class.

I had no choice but to ask Luke "do you know what we have to do?" I asked him. He smiled "so you lied to the teacher".
I sighed. I never thought he would be this annoying.

I wanted to ask someone else but everyone was already working on the assignment. "What do we have to do Luke come on" I looked at him seriously, but he kept smiling. In these three days I've never seen him smile and now suddenly he won't quit smiling. He's so weird.

"You're interesting" said Luke out of nowhere "what?" I looked at him confused. "Hey, should we make a deal? I'll tell you the assignment, but after school you'll come with me" Luke said smiling. "Come with you? Where to?" I asked him "you'll see" he answered. "I barely know you, I'm not coming," I said in annoyance.
