Tori grew a pretty happy life at the Grace Field Orphanage, or that's what her so- called "family" thought. She honestly didn't care about any of those idiots. She knew the truth of what happened when you got "adopted", so what's the point of getting attached if you're just going to lose them. Well, all that changed when she met, or more like actually talked, to Masa. Tori was five years old and reading her book, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, when a tall boy who looked like a ten year old girl (the little dude was actually five) asked her to join him and the other young children in a game of tag. Among the people playing tag was Emma, a show off, in Tori's opinion, Norman (a know it all, also in her opinion), Ray, unwillingly (a stupid know it all, and weird, also in her opinion) and Katsuko, among them were also other children she didnt bother learning the names of.  As she was running through the forest, feeling the wind in her hair, she noticed that her right eye was exposed, so she climbed a tree and went inside a hollow area in the trunk. She had an unnatural version of mydriasis, a condition that usually made your pupils large. When she was born, the monsters, or so she thought they were, noticed this. Her version of mydriasis, though, was different. She only had it on one eye, and it was unnaturally large, even larger than usual, it was so large that her pupil covered her entire eye. At first the monsters thought that she had been born without an eye, at least until they noticed otherwise. She remembered how the monsters had debated whether eating her right now or actually letting her live'. She then remembers the voice of a woman, pleading with them to let the child live, to give her a chance to live a good life. She figured the voice was of her mother, who must have cared for her. The other memories though, are of her getting taken to the "orphanage", where Isabella, or "mom" had grabbed her, then almost dropped her at seeing her eye.

"What is that in her eye?!?" Isabella had asked, looking at the child. "She's the newest product," the other woman said, "and you are to raise her"

Then she remembers entering the room, the lights looking way too bright for her right eye, so she remembered squinting her eyes.

"Ah she's so- what's with her eye?" a girl had asked,as soon as everybody saw her eye, she remembered hearing a bunch of ew's, monsters, and other hurtful things that still hurt her to this day.
