It was Monday 8 in the morning and I was totally late for my job interview. Right now I'm sitting in a taxi on the way to an office complex on the east of LA. I took a deep breath to calm down. A look on my phone said it was 8.14am. I had to be there at 9. On this time in the morning the drive could easily take about an hour and a half. Shit. "I'll give you the money twice if you get your fucking ass up and drive a little faster", I shouted at the taxi driver 'cause he was busy trying to flirt through the opened window with a girl on the sidewalk. The only thing I'd say about that is "welcome to LA". I rolled my eyes and scrolled through my Insta feed . I found a post about Alejandro Sanchez, the famous CEO of a worldwide fashion company. The media is obsessed with him because he is apparently everything a girl wants. He is rich, famous and extreamly good looking. And this dude is supposed to be my new boss.
I was nervously sitting in the hallway waiting for my name to be called. Luckily I made it just in time. Now I'm wating to get called to go in the office to do the interview and hope for the best. There were many others who plan to apply for the humiliating job of beeing Alejandro Sanchez personal assistent, most of them were girls. Not gonna lie I was kind of insecure 'cause all of them were so freaking pretty. Perfect. I assume that in this kind of job it's more important how you look than how good the work is that you do, so I don't calculate my chances very well.
"Maria Bianchi" I suddenly heard a bored voice. I closed my eyes for a short moment and took a breath. The following 30 minutes are gonna decide my future.
"Describe yourself a little to us Ms. Bianchi." Alejandro Sanchez dark brown eyes were fixed to mine. "My name is Maria Farina Bianchi, I'm 24 years old and born in a tiny city near Rome. Before I moved to LA I studied fashion design in Milano 'till I made my master. 5 month ago I moved to LA." I answerd him in a serious tone without taking my eyes of him. "What made you apply for a job as a personal assistent? You didn't mention any interest in that direction." Of course I expected this question. After I moved to LA I applied for a lot of jobs but I obviously wasn't very succesful. "I wanted to try something new and assisting in a fashion company sounded really interesting" i didn't laugh or showed any form of sarcasm but I think he still got the lie. He asked me a couple more questions "Now I only have one question left Ms., what's the real reason you're here?" He asked looking me straight in the eyes. Honestly I felt like he looked straight through my soul. "I already answerd that?" I replyed playing dumb. His serious face expression changed into a little smile. "Thank you Ms. Bianchi. We're gonna call you."
