Vampires and Sunlight

What could be a less typical answer to the question: Why can't vampires go into the sun?

With that in mind I tried constructing something that would make sense. So here it is:

Vampires are dead people. They are Zombies but with free will, a lust for blood and supernatural ability. So I like to think they are like Zombies but with a part of their soul still attached to their body, which is what gives them a sense of being.

The thing is though, that the rest of the soul is already with the devil in hell. Why? Well, that has something to do with the first vampire to ever exist. That's how Vampires came to be, a deal with the devil. Half of their soul for eternal life, super strength, being fast as lightning....and all the side effects that were unwanted... but hey! That is just how the devil is. You make a deal with the devil and he adds a little twist to it. But if everyone is being honest with themselves...we don't know if the devil even had another way of giving a human immortality. He let part of the soul die, together with the body, but he needs to let one part of the soul stay in order for the body not to become a zombie (that mistake he already made a long time ago and he doesn't want to get scolded again for creating something completely out of control). That's why he basically burned the body and the rest of the soul together. So that nothing can split them apart. Not a dagger, a jump of a cliff, a car, a plane crush, you get the idea.

Is he satisfied with only owning half their souls?

No...absolutely not. So what does he do to eventually get the other half?

He marked the other half of the soul. A mark visible only (now you can guess)................................

in SUNLIGHT!

So that's why vampires can't go into sunlight. Their mark gets visible and the devil knows where they and their part of the soul are.

But what does he do when he finds them? Even the devil himself can't detach the burnt in Half-Soul from the vampires body.

He robs them of their free will. It is kind of like a possession. He controls their souls. Making them basically like Zombies, just that they are controlled by the devil and they still look a lot like vampires. Just a little bit more dead... if that makes sense.

So! That explains pretty much why most vampires go out of their way to avoid sunlight.

Even those that distaste immortal life (and being a vampire in general). Then everyone has the same answer when they ask themselves, what is better:

Being immortal or being an eternal slave?
