Powder and Ekko were riding around on a contraption they'd put together themselves. With powders knowledge of bombs and Ekko's knowledge of contraptions they were able to make a semi functional vehicle. It drove and it fit both of them on it but it was a bit top heavy and tended to tip over if they weren't careful.
"It's amazing! We did it!" shouted powder while test riding their new creation. Ekko stared at the girl in front of him,. Her light pink lips matched her cheeks and elated expression. He smiled like a fool leaning against a box. He wanted her joy to last forever. Powder stopped the wheel nearly tipping over but catching her balance last second.
"Come on Ekko get on!" She held her hand out and he grabbed on. She pulled him into their creation and sat him on the bottom tier. She controlled the steering as they spun around the streets of the undercity bumping into people and booths alike. Eventually from the higher tier Powder spotted enforcers harassing some people forcing them to hand over their bags that were roughly searched through. When the enforcers found nothing they threw their stuff to the floor and make them pick it up.
"Enforcers ahead! What do I do captain?" she asked.
"Full thrust ahead!" Said Ekko pointing to the enforcers. Powder did as told. Ekko Made a face and held up his middle finger while they sped past the enforcers. Powder giggled running circles around them before racing away. They drove down an alley and fell off the edge bouncing off roofs and going through the lanes until eventually finding themselves near the last drop. When they got back they parked outside and draped a tarp over their new toy so the enforcers or any thief's wouldn't find it.
Powder grabbed Ekkos hand and the two ran inside past Vander and into the basement. Vi, Claggor, and Mylo were nowhere to be found so they ran to Powders bed. Powder pulled out a new bomb in the making.
"I'm calling this one Whiskers!" She told Ekko holding up a metal container with a cats face drawn on it.
"That's awesome." Ekko took Whisker from Powder and examined it smiling.
"It's gonna work this time, I just know it!" Her optimism always brightened Ekko's day. Ekko's cheeks flushed sat next to powder, he Went to give Whisker back to power but when he did he held her hands softly. She smiled at him making his heart melt. They say together in silence until Ekko spotted something, a blue light from under Powders pillow.
"Whats that?" He asked pointing at the blue glow.
Powder started stumbling over her words knowing Vi asked her to keep it a secret
"Its, uh, well, I cant really tell you?"
"Come on powder I'm your best friend!" Ekko pleaded giving Powder the puppy dog eyes.
"Okay, okay but you can't tell anyone! Promise?"
"Promise." He nodded.
Powder reached under her pillow to pull out 3 blue stones that were glowing. They were beautiful.
"What are they?" Ekko asked.
"I'm not quite sure, I got them from the penthouse." She held one up to her eye staring into it before hiding them again.
Powder fell back onto her bed and Ekko joined her. The two sat there staring at the DIY bombs that dangled above head just enjoying the other company. Powder, with a stomach full of butterflies reached for Ekko's hand. She intertwined their fingers still staring up at the bottom of the bunk above her. The two of them smiled and let the problems of the world melt around them
